"Nervous About Correct Eating" Disease

Choosing healthy foods now called a mental disorder

"In its never-ending attempt to fabricate “mental disorders” out of every human activity, the psychiatric industry is now pushing the most ridiculous disease they’ve invented yet: Healthy eating disorder.
This is no joke: If you focus on eating healthy foods, you’re “mentally diseased” and probably need some sort of chemical treatment involving powerful psychotropic drugs. The Guardian newspaper reports, “Fixation with healthy eating can be sign of serious psychological disorder” and goes on to claim this “disease” is called orthorexia nervosa — which is basically just Latin for “nervous about correct eating.”
But they can’t just called it “nervous healthy eating disorder” because that doesn’t sound like they know what they’re talking about. So they translate it into Latin where it sounds smart (even though it isn’t). That’s where most disease names come from: Doctors just describe the symptoms they see with a name like osteoporosis (which means “bones with holes in them”).
Getting back to this fabricated “orthorexia” disease, the Guardian goes on to report, “Orthorexics commonly have rigid rules around eating. Refusing to touch sugar, salt, caffeine, alcohol, wheat, gluten, yeast, soya, corn and dairy foods is just the start of their diet restrictions. Any foods that have come into contact with pesticides, herbicides or contain artificial additives are also out.”
Wait a second. So attempting to avoid chemicals, dairy, soy and sugar now makes you a mental health patient? Yep. According to these experts. If you actually take special care to avoid pesticides, herbicides and genetically modified ingredients like soy and sugar, there’s something wrong with you.
But did you notice that eating junk food is assumed to be “normal?” If you eat processed junk foods laced with synthetic chemicals, that’s okay with them. The mental patients are the ones who choose organic, natural foods, apparently."

Do awards actually mean anything anymore? It's been hallucinogenic since around the time Kissinger got the Nobel peace prize.

"Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair is to receive a prestigious US medal and $100,000 (£67,000) prize for his work in conflict resolution.

The National Constitution Centre is awarding him its Liberty Medal for "steadfast" efforts to broker peace in Northern Ireland and the Middle East.

Previous winners include Nelson Mandela and former US presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush senior.

Mr Blair said he was driven by values of "freedom, liberty and justice".

Mr Clinton, the centre's chairman, will present the medal in Philadelphia on 13 September."

Top Republican: Raise Social Security's retirement age to 70

"A Republican-held Congress might look to raise the retirement age to 70, House Minority Leader John Boehner (R-Ohio) suggested Monday.Boehner, the top Republican lawmaker in the House, said raising the retirement age by five years, indexing benefits to the rate of inflation and means-testing benefits would make the massive entitlement program more solvent.
"We're all living a lot longer than anyone ever expected," Boehner said in a meeting with the editors of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "And I think that raising the retirement age — going out 20 years, so you're not affecting anyone close to retirement — and eventually getting the retirement age to 70 is a step that needs to be taken."

Here Come Drugs To Combat The Scourge Of Dykes

Doctor testing drug to ‘prevent’ lesbianism, interest in ‘male careers’

"Dr. Maria New has a new strategy for treating unborn fetuses: the use of a potentially dangerous steroid aimed at preventing a rare congenital disorder that affects the adrenal gland, potentially consigning the future child to a lifetime regime of drugs.
It also prevents "some of the symptoms of [this disorder] in girls, namely ambiguous genitalia. Because the condition causes overproduction of male hormones in the womb, girls who are affected tend to have genitals that look more male than female, though internal sex organs are normal."
Dr. New offers pregnant women dexamethasone, a risky steroid aimed at female fetuses that may have this disorder. Many exposed to dexamethasone through this off-label use are not being enrolled in controlled clinical trials.
And yes, it gets worse. As columnist Dan Savage points out, Dr. New is also exploring the use of dexmethasone's effects on future fetuses' desires to explore "male careers" or have disinterest in becoming mothers.

"The majority of researchers and clinicians interested in the use of prenatal “dex” focus on preventing development of ambiguous genitalia in girls with CAH. CAH results in an excess of androgens prenatally, and this can lead to a “masculinizing” of a female fetus’s genitals. One group of researchers, however, seems to be suggesting that prenatal dex also might prevent affected girls from turning out to be homosexual or bisexual."

And it isn’t just that many women with CAH have a lower interest, compared to other women, in having sex with men. In another paper entitled “What Causes Low Rates of Child-Bearing in Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia?” Meyer-Bahlburg writes that “CAH women as a group have a lower interest than controls in getting married and performing the traditional child-care/housewife role. As children, they show an unusually low interest in engaging in maternal play with baby dolls, and their interest in caring for infants, the frequency of daydreams or fantasies of pregnancy and motherhood, or the expressed wish of experiencing pregnancy and having children of their own appear to be relatively low in all age groups.”

The Scourge Of Garage Terrorism Must End

Parking lot attendants trained to fight terror

"Atlanta, Georgia (CNN) -- The next time you pull into a parking garage and the attendant gives you the once-over, he or she may be taking note of more than just the shiny rear spoiler on your new car.
As part of a new government initiative, parking lot attendants and other transportation workers are being trained as the next line of defense in the fight against terrorism.
The First Observer program was introduced to parking lot professionals at a Las Vegas, Nevada, convention in May, days after a vendor in New York's Times Square spotted a suspicious vehicle and helped thwart what could have been a deadly terrorist attack.
Full coverage of the false flag psyop
The Times Square incident highlighted the need for ordinary citizens to be trained to become extra eyes and ears of law enforcement, according to officials involved in the program.
"No matter how banal it seems, if something seems different to you or suspicious, we want you to report it," said Jeff Beatty, a former CIA and FBI agent.
Beatty led the First Observer program's pilot training session Monday in Atlanta, Georgia. He and a team of Transportation Security Administration officials trained some 60 parking lot officials and representatives on how to spot suspicious vehicles carrying hazardous materials or other activity that may signal the planning phases of a terrorist attack.
"In New York City, a T-shirt vendor saw an abandoned vehicle that looked suspicious. He called the police, and they moved in quickly," Beatty said. "Even in the eleventh hour we have an opportunity to make a difference."
The training is part of a $15.5 million program funded by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and administered by the Transportation Security Administration.
Under the program, transportation workers -- including parking lot employees and truck and school bus drivers -- are trained to be on the lookout for people taking photos or sketches of supportive beams in parking garages, people loading vehicles with numerous propane fuel tanks, and foul odors such as diesel fuel coming from a nondiesel-burning van -- which could signal an ammonium nitrate bomb.

BP oil spill: Barack Obama and David Cameron agree BP must not collapse

"The US President and British Prime Minister said that the stricken oil giant should "remain a strong and stable company" after meeting to discuss the environmental disaster on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Toronto. The discussions come amid growing worries that the company could never recover from the Deepwater Horizon disaster, which has left BP facing unquantifiable costs and damaged its strategic ambitions.
The two leaders said that the company should "meet its obligations to cap the leak, clean up the damage and meet legitimate compensation claims," but added that "it was to both countries' advantage for BP to remain a strong and stable company."

Cybersecurity Measures Will Mandate Government “ID Tokens” To Use The Internet

"The move to shut down and regulate the Internet under a new government-controlled system has accelerated into high gear with the announcement that the government’s cybersecurity strategy revolves around issuing Internet users with ID “tokens” without which they will not be able to visit websites, the latest salvo against web freedom which, in combination with Senator Joe Lieberman’s ‘kill switch’ bill, will serve to eviscerate the free Internet as we know it.
Under the guise of “cybersecurity,” the government is moving to discredit and shut down the existing Internet infrastructure in the pursuit of a new, centralized, regulated world wide web.
It is important to stress that “cybersecurity” has nothing to do with protecting the infrastructure of the United States and everything to do with taking over the Internet. Cybersecurity is about attacking non-compliant Internet users, not defending against hackers. Non-compliance equates as using the Internet as a political tool to dissent against the policies of the U.S. government. Having already tried and failed in
flooding the web with paid disinformation agents, the government is now turning to its only recourse, exploiting hyped or outright staged cyberattacks as an excuse through which to implement an Internet 2 system controlled and regulated solely by the authorities."

Florida Gov. Urges Vacationers to Swim in Toxic Sludge

"Florida Governor Charlie Crist is apparently more worried about the state’s economy than the health of vacationers and residents. Crist told CBS on Saturday the water is safe and people shouldn’t worry. “It is safe,” Crist declared, “there isn’t a toxic nature to it that is detrimental to anybody. It is much more of a nuisance than anything else at this point.”

"Crist is asking ill-informed beachgoers to endanger their health so the state’s tourism industry can be saved. “The Escambia County Health Department lifted a health advisory on Pensacola Beach on Friday on the advice of a beach official and against the advice of a federal environmental official,” reports PNJ.com. Officials want to leave the decision to swim in the Gulf of Mexico up to the discretion of individual beachgoers."

EPA opening public “Decontamination Stations”; 400 people seek medical care after visiting Florida beach

"The Escambia County Health Department lifted a health advisory on Pensacola Beach on Friday on the advice of a beach official and against the advice of a federal environmental official. …
Meanwhile, the Environmental Protection Agency plans to put decontamination stations along the beach, possibly as early as this weekend. …
Dr. John Lanza, director of Escambia County Health Department, said the reason for leaving the decision up to beachgoers on whether to swim is because the oil situation on the beach is “very dynamic.”
“We have a situation that changes from one hour to the next, from one tide to the next, from wave to wave, from one wind direction to another,” he said. …
[T]he impact advisory would warn beachgoers to avoid touching oily product on the beach and in the water, and it would advise them leaving the beach and seeking medical help if they experience respiratory problems.
So far, 400 people have sought medical care for upper or lower respiratory problems, headaches, nausea, and eye irritation after trips to Escambia County beaches, Lanza said. …
[O]il chips, tar balls and submerged oil slicks and the odor of petroleum still were present.
And people complained about getting a petroleum jelly-like substance on them from sand that was tainted brown.
Swimmers who did venture into the water questioned whether it was really safe to wade, swim and play in the Gulf, especially when they had to walk through a line of tar balls and stay clear of skimmers scooping up oil just 25 and 50 feet from the shore."

"Crist managed to raise around $25 million to put out propaganda touting Florida’s unstained beaches and encouraging folks to come on down."

supposed anti corporate arsonist fashionably dressed in Nike clothes

"An eyebrow-raising photograph of one of the anarchists who set fire to a Toronto police car during anti-G20 protests this past weekend shows him wearing Nike clothing, a potential indication that provocateurs dressed up as black-bloc “anarchists” were again employed by authorities to cause mayhem in order to justify a brutal police crackdown and crush free speech, as peaceful protesters were attacked and arrested while the anarchists who torched the cars were left alone.
The picture shows the two culprits who set fire to the police car congratulating each other and looking remarkably relaxed about potentially being caught by police considering what they had just done. One of the men is wearing Nike pants – the distinctive logo of the company can be seen above his left pocket."

I like how the cop vehicles were conveniently parked in the middle of the street, so when they burned the flames wouldn't hurt anything, and they could be easily photographed.

Media Brownshirts Hail Columbia's Continuing Thugocracy

Fascist bootlickers breath a sigh of relief as america's client narco state remains the role model for the rest of the peons in Latin America.

Leader of Death Squads Wins Colombian Election

"Juan Manuel Santos, notorious Defense Minister in the regime of outgoing President Alvaro Uribe and closely identified with high crimes against humanity “won” the recent Presidential elections in Colombia, June 2010. The major electronic and print media CNN, FOX News, Washington Post, the New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and the once liberal Financial Times (FT) hailed Santos election, as a great victory for democracy. According to the FT, “Colombia not Venezuela is (the) best model for Latin America” (FT 6/23/2010 p. 8). Citing Santos “overwhelming” margin – he garnered 69% of the vote, the FT claimed he won a “strong mandate” (FT 6/22/2010). In what has to be one of the most flagrant cover-ups in recent history, the media accounts exclude the most egregious facts about the elections and the profoundly authoritarian policies pursued by Santos over the past decade.

The Elections: Guns, Elites and Terror

Elections are a process (not merely an event) in which prior political conditions determine the outcome. During the previous eight years of outgoing President Uribe’s and Defense Minister Santos’ rule, over 2 million, mostly rural poor, were forcibly uprooted and driven from their homes and land and displaced across frontiers into neighboring countries, or to urban slums. The Uribe-Santos regime relied on both the military and the 30,000 member paramilitary deathsquads to kill and terrorize entire population centers, deemed “sympathetic” to the armed insurgency, affecting several million urban and rural poor. Over 20,000 people were killed, many, according to the major Colombian human rights group, falsely labeled “guerrillas”. Santos as Defense Minister was directly implicated by the Courts in what was called “false positives”. The military randomly rounded up scores of poor urban youth, shot them and claimed a resounding victory over the FARC guerrillas.
Several of the most important captured paramilitary deathsquad leaders testified that over 60 of the congress people backing Uribe – Santos were on their payroll and they “ensured” votes from regions under their control. Faced with damaging testimony, Uribe-Santos double-crossed their narco-deathsquad comrades and “extradited” them to the U.S. where the judicial process excluded evidence linking them to the mass killings at the behest of Uribe-Santos.
Over two thousand trade unionists, human rights activists, journalists and congress- people critical of Uribe-Santos were murdered by deathsquad hit-men serving the regime. The world’s major trade union confederations have sent missions and published reports condemning Colombia as the most dangerous country for workers’ representatives.
In other words all the social sectors with social and political grievances against the regime were terrorized, many of their local opinion leaders, killed, displaced or driven into exile … undermining the possibility of sustained independent socio-political organization.
Pervasive state terror led to few local leaders surviving, undermining the electorate’s capacity to exercise a free and independent organization.
On election day, the regime mobilized over 350,000 military and police officials, many involved in the decade long repression, to “oversee” the elections and to remind the voters of the force behind the “official candidate” (La Jornada 5/30/2010).
The electoral outcome was far from the “mandate” of the Colombian people as claimed by the mass media. The ‘winner’ was the “abstentionists” with 56% of the electorate, the position advocated by the FARC. Now clearly the majority of the abstentionist vote did not reflect support or sympathy for the FARC; rather it reflected disaffection with the regime’s violent repression, massive dispossession of millions and its total failure to deal with the under and unemployment affecting 40% of the economically active population."

"The fact that the mass-media have so enthusiastically embraced a regime with the worst human rights record since the fall of the military dictators of the 1970’s - 1980’s is indicative of the right turn under the Obama Wall Street regime."

In a story published Wednesday (June 23) in British tabloid The Sun,, the newspaper reported that Gaga has reached out to Gunther von Hagens, a controversial anatomist who invented a technique for preserving cadavers called plastination and is responsible for the popular traveling exhibition "Body Worlds."
The Sun quoted "a friend" of Gaga as saying "she is fascinated by Gunther's work and life ... [Gaga] sees a kindred spirit and is hoping to meet him in New York. They have spoken over e-mail and it's gone well. She is keen to have some Body Worlds element in one of her shows."
The source went on to say that Gaga is aiming to incorporate von Hagens' work into her tour by the time it gets to Las Vegas, which doesn't happen until March of 2011.
"It would be good to top this tour — which is already out-there — with something nobody has done before, using dead bodies as part of a gig," the source said."

Invading Brits Still Haven't Learned A Goddamned Thing

While the Afghans remember their history quite well.

Taliban switch to long-range fire in fight against UK troops

"Royal Marines deployed in Sangin in southern Afghanistan, where British troops have suffered a high rate of casualties in recent weeks, are facing a growing threat from long-range rifle fire as Taliban fighters change their tactics, a senior British officer revealed today."

"Asked about the vulnerability of British troops in Sangin, Norton said: "We are all vulnerable to IEDs [improvised explosive devices], but the insurgents are increasingly using long-distance small arms."
"Major General Gordon Messenger, the Ministry of Defence's chief military spokesman, said Taliban-led insurgents were resorting to what he described as an "increasing use of single shots at range".

The Jezail - Afghanistan’s Kentucky rifle

"The English invaded Afghanistan from India three times in the 1800s. These were Sepoy armies, Indian men led by Englishmen, trained to fight in tight ranks, and armed with the Brown Bess musket. Sepoys were physically small, and their weapons had to be scaled down to make them easier to handle. But in other respects they were as good as British regulars, sometimes better. Individually inaccurate, soldiers of the day fired terrifying volleys, spewing hundreds of bullets at close range.

In the American war for independence, colonial militias found a way to fight British heavy infantry. They spread out under cover of rough terrain and shot up the tightly packed English ranks with hunting weapons like the Kentucky rifle. Volleys of poorly aimed musket balls were wasted on skirmishing militiamen, especially at the long ranges permitted by the Kentucky rifle. The experience in America might have prepared the English for Afghanistan. But when Afghan tribal militias started picking them off with the Jezail, the English still had no tactical answer. An entire British army was wiped out retreating from Kabul to Jallalabad in 1842."

MOH: Israel prevents delivery of oxygen to hospitals

"Bethlehem – Ma'an – Seven oxygen machines donated to the Palestinain Authority by a Norwegian development agency were seized by Israeli officials en route to hospitals in the West Bank and Gaza, the Ramallah-based health ministry said. The machines, the ministry said in a Thursday statement, were confiscated by Israeli officials who claimed that the generators attached "came under the category of possible use for non-medical purposes" if they were delivered to the southern Gaza governorates.
While only one generator was bound for southern Gaza, all seven were taken, the statement said, and "all were badly needed for medical treatment.
"The six others were bound for government hospitals in the northern Gaza, inducing the European Hospital in Gaza City, the Rafdieyah hospital in Nablus, and other facilities in Ramallah and Hebron."
The Ministry of Health made an official appeal to the Norwegian Development Agency, which had supplied the machines, asking that hey intervene and demand the release of the equipment at the soonest possible date."Any delay in obtaining the medical equipment will negatively affect the health of patients," the statement concluded, holding all partners responsible for the well being of Palestinians as the goods are withheld."

The BP Solution To Criticism They Censor News

BP Sends PR Professionals To Gulf Coast To Pretend To Be Journalists

"You know, a lot has been said about BP and its contributions to the natural beauty of the Gulf Coast states. But what we haven't heard as much about are BP's contributions to journalism, have we? I mean, we've basically covered the fact that BP's been doing a good job at preventing journalism from happening. But all that's about to change, because BP is sending its own journalists to the region, dispatched abroad from their regular offices, in Hell.
Basically, having grown tired of blocking other reporters from covering the story, BP is going to spend its own money on a bunch of in-house PR professionals who will reliably block themselves from covering the story. It's precisely the sort of genius move you'd expect from the company that's now more despised than Goldman Sachs, the corporate fecal-demons of 2009. The pioneering work of these BP reporters will be collected in an online magazine called "Planet BP," which the Wall Street Journal's Benoit Faucon likens to Monty Python's famous song, "Always Look On The Bright Side of Life." It's an apt comparison."

Bring Back The Automat

One of the pleasures I had growing up in New York near The City was going to an automat for something to ease the hunger pains. An automat, for young whippersnappers who don't know, were pre fast food eateries, mainly in NE metro areas, where you could choose what you wanted to eat from coin operated windows that surrounded a sit down cafeteria.

It was good, cheap food - Horn and Hardarts only accepted nickels for as long as I ate in them in the 60s, and the beauty of these places was that you could see exactly what you were paying for through a window that opened up when you dropped the coins in. Kitchens in the back kept food constantly supplied. If stuff didn't look good it didn't sell and was replaced by something more fresh and appealing. All the usual fare was offered but then there were also the soups and casseroles and desserts. Automats disappeared when burger joints proliferated, and even with their limited menus the allure of drive throughs and standardized junk food they peddled proved too much for automats to survive.

The consumer on the go lost truth in advertising. So when they promise this:

Knoxville-based amputee group questions TSA

"The Knoxville-based Amputee Coalition of America says amputees are being mistreated at airport security checkpoints across the nation.
One example, they say, is Peggy Chenoweth, of Gainesville, Virginia, who lost her left leg below the knee in 2003 after an accident.
A few weeks ago, she and her four-year-old son were flying home from a conference when her prosthetic set off the metal detector.
"I always make sure that I wear shorts so then it's visible. They took me to the little Plexiglas waiting area which I'm very accustomed to. My son came through security, came over and sat right next to me and took my hand. He was immediately yelled at," Chenoweth said. "He started to cry. I wasn't allowed to comfort him. I wasn't allowed to give him a hug because I hadn't been cleared."
Then Chenoweth says she was forced to remove her leg and the liner that holds it in place.
"So I was stuck sitting in the Plexiglas room in front of everybody with my limb exposed. I think unless you're an amputee, you don't realize how very personal the residual limb is to the amputee. It's akin to showing your genitals or going bare-breasted. It's just something you don't feel comfortable showing in public," Chenoweth said.
Now she says she's nervous to fly again, and she's not alone."

Former Oil Worker Says Cleanup Just For Show

"GULF SHORES, Alabama - Former oil clean-up worker Candi Warren says she signed up to make a difference, but soon found out the work of cleaning the beaches was all cosmetic. That's what she was told, she says.
Warren says she knew that when crews worked during the day, the tide and surf buried oil overnight. But they were forbidden to dig it up. She quit in disgust three weeks ago despite the $18 per hour pay.
She said she was told to only clean the surface of the sand, that this is all cosmetic. She was on a crew at Gulf State Park where tourists go. She says it has priority so as to make it look like the beaches are clean.
Warren says she believes money is being wasted on the crews and says "At some point the real clean-up will have to begin, but I'm afraid the money will be gone.
"She used a shovel and dug down six, eight, maybe twelve inches into the sand to show us the layers of oil close to the shoreline."

BP Has Built An Artificial Island To Get Around Offshore Drilling Ban In Alaska

"The offshore drilling moratorium that is falling apart in court already contains one major loophole -- and there's little surprise which company is threading the needle.
BP plans to begin drilling two miles under the sea just miles away from a delicate wildlife reserve in Alaska. The company will get around the deep-water moratorium by constructing an artificial island -- 31 acres of gravel -- and registering as an onshore rig.
Not exactly the safest operation, reports
Rolling Stone:
Here's what BP has in store for the Arctic: First, the company will drill two miles beneath its tiny island, which it has christened "Liberty." Then, in an ingenious twist, it will drill sideways for another six to eight miles, until it reaches an offshore reservoir estimated to hold 105 million barrels of oil. This would be the longest "extended reach" well ever attempted, and the effort has required BP to push drilling technology beyond its proven limits. As the most powerful "land-based" oil rig ever built, Liberty requires special pipe to withstand the 105,000 foot-pounds of torque — the equivalent of 50 Mack truck engines — needed to turn the drill.

"This is about as sexy as it gets," a top BP official boasted to reporters in 2008."

Rolling Stone broke interview ground rules with McChrystal, military officials say

"Gen. Stanley A. McChrystal has made no public comment since President Obama relieved him of his Afghan war command Wednesday, silently taking his lumps for disparaging remarks he and his aides made about administration officials in the presence of a reporter from Rolling Stone magazine.

McBateman studies his cue cards

Two others with direct knowledge of the command's dealings with Hastings offered similar accounts.

Rolling Stone executive editor Eric Bates categorically denied that Hastings violated any ground rules in writing about the four weeks he spent with McChrystal and his team. "A lot of things were said off the record that we didn't use," Bates said in an interview. "We abided by all the ground rules in every instance."

"In every case in this story there were multiple times in which there were express requests for off the record and background or not-for-attribution and we abided in every instance," Bates said.

Neither McChrystal nor anyone else has denied making the derisive comments, including a depiction of Obama as "uncomfortable and intimidated" in his first meeting with the general and of national security adviser James L. Jones as a "clown."

Nasty, Nasty Trojan

Somehow or another I picked up this virus called AV Security Suite that knocked me off my usual computer. It's a piece of scareware crap that nags you to death to buy a product that will get rid of some fake trouble when in fact it's the scareware itself that's the problem.
It hijacks your browser and sends you to garbage sites, pops up nags every few seconds and prevents any application from starting, like Spybot. It just flips your LAN settings back to proxy server automatically. Have to stop everthing and shuttle files about with a stick while I try to extricate this bug. Nasty stuff.
Norton, what the hell am I paying you for?

Fascists Lose One Of Their Mercenary Terrorists

Iran Executes CIA Operative Abdolmalek Rigi

"Sunni militant and prized CIA asset Abdolmalek Rigi went to the gallows on Sunday. The Jundullah leader was hanged in Iran’s Evin prison after being convicted by the Islamic Revolution Court of being a mohareb, or “enemy of Allah.” Rigi’s plane was forced to land by Iranian aircraft in February while on a flight from Dubai to Kyrgyzstan. Other accounts said he had been arrested inside Iran or Pakistan.
“We have clear documents proving that Rigi was in co-operation with American, Israeli and British intelligence services,” Iran’s intelligence minister, Heydar Moslehi, said after Rigi’s capture. Moslehi said Rigi had been in a U.S. military base 24 hours before his arrest and was carrying an Afghan passport supplied by the United States.

In 2007, a Sunday Telegraph report revealed that Jundullah was a CIA creation designed to achieve “regime change in Iran” through terrorist attacks. An ABC report also indicted that officials in Washington had instructed Jundullah terrorists to “stage deadly guerrilla raids inside the Islamic Republic, kidnap Iranian officials and execute them on camera” all as part of a “programmatic objective to overthrow the Iranian government.”
“The latest attacks inside Iran fall in line with US efforts to supply and train Iran’s ethnic minorities to destabilize the Iranian regime,” former high-ranking CIA official in Washington told the Sunday Telegraph following a series of bombings and an assassination campaign waged against Iranian soldiers and government officials.

In 2005, Jundallah attacked Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s motorcade in Iran’s Balochistan province, in which at least one of his bodyguards was killed and others injured. The following year the terrorist group killed 21 civilians, including a 13 year old student, near Tasooki. In 2007, Jundallah attacked a bus and killed 18 members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps. The CIA supported organization has also staged mass abductions of civilians and police. In 2009, they bombed a mosque in the southeastern Iranian city of Zahedan as mourners participated in a ceremony marking the death of the daughter of the prophet of Islam."

China’s one-child policy creates massive gender imbalance

"The Chinese government says its so-called “one-child policy” has succeeded in reining in its population.
But more than three decades after the policy’s implementation, China is dealing with some challenging consequences.
In a country where families often value sons over daughters and $20 can get you an illegal gender ultrasound test, there is a massive gender imbalance.
Combined with the country’s economic development, this has left an entire generation of men unable to find wives.
Al Jazeera’s Melissa Chan reports from Hainan in the country’s south, women, it appears, are nowhere to be found."

Man claims to find oil in oyster at Cornelius restaurant

"CORNELIUS, NC (WBTV) - A man says he found oil inside his oysters while eating at a restaurant located north of Charlotte this weekend.
Matthew Robertson is fascinated at the thought that an oyster from the Gulf Coast that was possibly soaked in oil made it onto his dinner plate.
"I rubbed it on my napkin and I said 'Hey, Dad look, there's oil on my oysters,'" said Robertson.
He was so surprised at what he found, he kept one of the oysters to show our cameras.
WBTV reporter Sarah Batista noticed there was a black substance stuck to the inside of the oyster.
"That is definitely tar, that is not on oysters, "said Robertson.
Robertson said he noticed the oil Saturday evening when he went to dinner at Vinnie's Raw Bar which is located near Lake Norman.
The first few oysters he consumed were fine, but then he noticed something unusual.

"After I ate about four of them, I started looking at my hands and I'm like--what is this stuff on my hands," said Robertson.
Roy Hall is the manager of Vinnie's Raw Bar and he admits the substance in the oyster appeared to be oil.
He said possible food contamination is a concern in the seafood industry right now.
In fact, suppliers are scrambling to find fresh oysters and the cost is rising."

Taxing It Out Of Existence

Over $10 A Pack: NY Lawmakers To Vote On Cigarette Tax Monday

"A new tobacco tax may soon be forcing smokers in New York State to cough up some more cash.
The state legislature was expected to vote Monday on a proposal to raise the tax on cigarettes by $1.60. It's part of Governor Paterson's latest emergency budget bill.If passed, the new tax would push the price of a pack of smokes over the $10 mark in the five boroughs while generating an estimated $440 million in revenue.
New York is trying to close a $9 billion budget hole, but smokers and tobacco dealers were opposed to the proposed hike. "I don't think it's really fair to just attack the smokers," West Harrison resident Darlene O'Keeffe said."I've traveled around the whole world – Europe and everywhere – [but] already I spent the most money in this city on cigarettes. So, naturally, it's bad," Manhattan resident Jean Paul de Boissezon said.
Not only would the cost be felt in consumer's wallets, but by the stores that sell tobacco products as well. "Right now, we're paying 46 percent state tax, and they want to bring it up to 90 [percent]," George Vasquez, assistant manager at De La Concha tobacco shop, said. "I think that will put a lot of the retailers out of business, and a lot of people into the unemployment line.
"Some of the non-smokers who spoke to CBS 2 on Saturday felt that an additional tax would provide another benefit, other than added revenue. "I think it would be good to deter young kids from doing it," Candice Scharf, of Baldwin, said. "They have limited income, so that way they may not want to spend that extra $1.60.""If it becomes too expensive, more people will quit, which would be so much better," Purchase resident Nancy DeRosa said."

Normally the urge for sin taxes is tempered by the understanding that a lot of consumers just won't or can't pay the jacked up prices, but I guess governments are absolutely desperate and this is the only thing they know how to do.
Yeah, I'll crow about it. I gave up smoking Jan 1, 1983, cold turkey, and I haven't touched tobacco since and have less than zero urges to do so. Alcohol, on the other hand...

Mystery submarine four miles off South Florida beach; flees after chased by boaters

"Ryan Danoff was fishing with two friends about four miles off Hollywood beach Sunday when he spied what appeared to be a mast on the horizon.
Funny thing: There was no boat underneath it.
Danoff, a Fort Lauderdale fish farmer who’s on the water at least three days a week, aimed his 31-foot center console Fishy Business at the mysterious upright and found himself eye to eye with a periscope.
“It was crazy,” he said. “If it was just myself out there I wouldn’t believe what I saw.”
Danoff moved closer. “It took off,” he said. Very fast, about 20 knots. The periscope sank beneath the waves, and whatever was below the surface blew its ballast, sending aloft a mighty hiccup of bubbles. After five minutes the sea lay once again undisturbed.
Danoff, 30, reported the episode to the Coast Guard. They said they’d get back to him, but never did. …
So could it have been a Navy sub taking a peek at the beach? “It’s kind of uncommon,” [Coast Guard Petty Officer Barry] Bena said. “But it’s a definite possibility.”

BP Chief Sold Stocks Shortly Before Oil Rig Explosion

"Weeks before the Deepwater Horizon oil rig explosion killed 11 and sent anywhere from 23 to 49 million gallons of oil gushing into the Gulf of Mexico, BP chief Tony Hayward sold about a third of his stocks, saving him 423,000 pounds according to Britain’s the Daily Telegraph, or $613,096 US dollars.
After doing so, Hayward paid off the mortgage on his mansion valued at $1,739,280. His total package was valued at $5,797,600.
According to the Daily Telegraph, “There is no suggestion that he acted improperly or had prior knowledge that the company was to face the biggest setback in its history.” Hayward disposed of his stocks on March 17, and BP stock has fallen by 30 percent since then."

"Larry Silverstein is the New York property tycoon who purchased the entire WTC complex just 6 months prior to the 9/11 attacks. That was the first time in its 33-year history the complex had EVER changed ownership."
"Mr. Silversten, who made a down-payment of $124 million on this $3.2 billion complex, promptly insured it for $7 Billion. Not only that, he covered the complex against “terrorist attacks”.Following the attacks, Silverstein filed TWO insurance claims for the maximum amount of the policy ($7B), based on the two -- in Silverstein's view -- separate attacks. The insurance company, Swiss Re, paid Mr. Silverstein $4.6 Billion — a princely return on a relatively paltry investment of $124 million."

Calif. License Plates May Go Electronic, Have Ads

"SACRAMENTO -- As electronic highway billboards flashing neon advertisements become more prevalent, the next frontier in distracted driving is already approaching -- ad-blaring license plates.

The California Legislature is considering a bill that would allow the state to begin researching the use of electronic license plates for vehicles. The move is intended as a moneymaker for a state facing a $19 billion deficit.

The device would mimic a standard license plate when the vehicle is in motion but would switch to digital ads or other messages when it is stopped for more than four seconds, whether in traffic or at a red light. The license plate number would remain visible at all times in some section of the screen."

Firms paid to shut down wind farms when the wind is blowing

Energy firms will receive
thousands of pounds a day per wind farm to turn off their turbines because the National Grid cannot use the power they are producing.
Critics of wind farms have seized on the revelation as evidence of the unsuitability of turbines to meet the UK's energy needs in the future. They claim that the 'intermittent' nature of wind makes such farms unreliable providers of electricity.

The National Grid fears that on breezy summer nights, wind farms could actually cause a surge in the electricity supply which is not met by demand from businesses and households.
The electricity cannot be stored, so one solution – known as the 'balancing mechanism' – is to switch off or reduce the power supplied."

I don't get this at all. I thought you could invest in wind power and sell electricity to the local energy lines.

U.S. War Addiction

Funding Enemies to Maintain Trillion Dollar Racket

"A few recent news items help expose the true drivers of current wars around the world.
#1) Wherever there is a war, look for CIA/IMF/private military war profiteers covertly funding and supporting BOTH sides in order to keep the wars raging and the profits rolling in. As former CIA Station Chief John Stockwell explained: “Enemies are necessary for the wheels of the US military machine to turn.”
Here’s an important glimpse of truth to seep through last week in the NY Times, via Raw Story:

US-backed ‘bribes’ in Afghanistan may be funding Taliban

On June 7, the day Afghanistan became America’s longest-ever war, the New York Times reported on an ongoing investigation poised to prove that private security companies “are using American money to bribe the Taliban” to fuel combat and thus enhance demand for their services. The news follows a “series of events last month that suggested all-out collusion with the insurgents,” the Times said.
“The American people are paying to prop up a corrupt government that may be using our money to pay private companies to drum up business by paying the insurgents to attack our troops,” [Kucinich] said…. The Times interviewed a NATO official in Kabul who “believed millions of dollars were making their way to the Taliban.”

#2) On top of that report, Sunday’s headlines read, “Pakistani spy agency supports Taliban:”
Pakistan’s main spy agency continues to arm and train the Taliban and is even represented on the group’s leadership council despite U.S. pressure to sever ties and billions in aid to combat the militants, said a research report released Sunday.
The findings could heighten tension between the two countries and raise further questions about U.S. success in Afghanistan since Pakistani cooperation is seen as key to defeating the Taliban, which seized power in Kabul in the 1990s with Islamabad’s support.
U.S. officials have suggested in the past that current or former members of Pakistan’s powerful Inter-Services Intelligence agency, or ISI, have maintained links to the Taliban despite the government’s decision to denounce the group in 2001 under U.S. pressure. read more

First off, these two reports are really not news at all. Reports of American tax dollars ending up in the hands of the Taliban have been coming out since the start of the war and the ISI, as the CIA has been well aware of for years now, has been playing both sides of this war and is pivotal in keeping the war going. Secondly, I have long wondered when the CIA / US military would start exposing all of this in the mainstream propaganda press as a pretext to further expand the war into Pakistan."

Time To Pull A Big Hullabaloo To Sweep All The Bad News Off The Front Page?

Bad news for the ziofascist empire, that is. More and more people are waking up to the unholy marriage of the US and the shitty little terrorist entity. Israel might have thought that pulling their murderous rampage on the Turkish aid ship would scare further attempts to break the siege of Gaza, but that's continuously the mistake bellicose psychos who are full of themselves tend to make. Ever more blockade busting flotillas are on the way. Ominous sign that that the zionists don't care much at this point is how quickly they reversed their decision to "ease" their stranglehold on Gaza and how they're waving their dicks around and bellowing at their neighbors.

Another disastrous setback has been the complete break with Turkey, former apologist for the zionists and previously crucial to war on Iran. Within the last several days it appears the Turks are engaging in proxy war with Israel by going after Israeli trained and supplied Kurds in Iraq. Evidence that the break between Turkey and the empire is permanent is how Turkey is being dragged through the mud and villified in zionist controlled MSM. You know a country is on the shitlist when it's leader gets singled out for attack.

It's slowly dawning on american mouthbreathers that contrary to the massive security and information curtain drawn around the extinction event in the gulf and the propaganda blitz to minimize it, We're Fucked.
The phony "recovery" from the "recession" is smoke and mirrors and there is no functioning economy. People know this, but the propaganda mill obligingly chirps it's smiley face crap about this increase and that success story, although the only ones doing well are the banks and corporations who got fed trillions of our money in the biggest heist in history.

No, this is turning into the summer from hell and it isn't even summer yet.

There's been speculation for years that empire would pull their shock and awe treatment on the rest of Israels rivals in the middle east. The fascists have been to the brink several times and then pulled back again. For what reasons? Warned off by Russia, weren't sure everything was in place, loss of Turkey, who knows. Maybe they wanted to wait until what will turn into a world war to force bad news to the sidelines, and if that's the case the news has never been this bad and it's getting worse by the day.
Time is not on their side if they want to have complete control over us before the consciousness shift in a couple of years.

So events in the last days and weeks point to something in the works, because the fascists have nothing left to offer the world but more war and death in their drive towards total hegemony.

Oil Spill Jobs Are Better Than ‘Normal’ Ones, Storm Will Clean up Oil

I guarantee you there will be very little evidence that the Deepwater Horizon ever blew out, if its shut off by the time the hurricanes gets here. And it’s not magic, its just dilution. It mixes it up, spreads it out, breaks it down and it’s gone. We still shouldn’t be putting it in there, don’t get me wrong, but storms and nature is what keeps getting us out of these binds.”

A Victory as Army Mounts Anti-Suicide Campaign

"Army Spc. Joseph Sanders was despondent over the breakup of his marriage and feeling alone in the oppressive heat of an Iraqi summer when he turned his rifle on himself and pulled the trigger.
Nothing happened. His buddy, Spc. Albert Godding, had disabled the rifle by removing the firing pin after Sanders told him he was thinking of killing himself.
It was a singular but welcome victory in the Army's battle against suicides, which last year claimed the lives of 163 soldiers on active duty and 82 Guard and Reserve soldiers not on active duty.
Congress ordered the Defense Department in 2008 to study ways to address the problem, and the Army started its own task force last year after an alarming spike in suicides in January and February.
The Army also launched a campaign to teach soldiers how to spot suicide warning signs and what to do about them. Godding credits that training for making him aware of the danger Sanders was in.
"I just reacted like a battle drill," Godding said. "Like muscle memory, you know?"

Corporate mass murderer 'gets his life back'.

BP CEO's yacht outing infuriates Gulf residents

"EMPIRE, La. – BP chief executive Tony Hayward took a day off Saturday to see his 52-foot yacht "Bob" compete in a glitzy race off England's shore, a leisure trip that further infuriated residents of the oil-stained Gulf Coast.
While Hayward's pricey ship whipped around the Isle of Wight on a good day for sailing — breezy and about 68 degrees — anger simmered on the steamy Gulf Coast, where crude has been washing in from the still-gushing spill.
"Man, that ain't right. None of us can even go out fishing, and he's at the yacht races," said Bobby Pitre, 33, who runs a tattoo shop in the crossroads town of Larose, La. "I wish we could get a day off from the oil, too."
BP spokespeople rushed to defend Hayward, who has drawn withering criticism as the public face of BP PLC's halting efforts to stop the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history.
Company spokesman Robert Wine said the break is the first for Hayward since the Deepwater Horizon rig BP was leasing exploded April 20, killing 11 workers and setting off the undersea gusher.
"He's spending a few hours with his family at a weekend. I'm sure that everyone would understand that," Wine said."

Hayward is now a dead man walking.
The other day I expressed my opinion to Mrs Lipstick that this extinction event in the gulf, which began on April 20, right in the middle of the high holy days of human sacrifice, is going to explode into an orgy of death. Exactly what the blood cult running this show wants. Untold environmental destruction will kill many and start to convince people to cash themselves out of this plane of existence, and many others will try to take it out on insensitive corporate scum like this Hayward reptile.

Who Died And Made BP The King Of The Gulf Of Mexico?

Business Insider

"There is one question that I would really like an answer to. Who died and made BP king of the Gulf of Mexico? In recent weeks, BP has almost seemed more interested in keeping the American people away from the oil spill than in actually cleaning it up.
Journalists are being pushed around and denied access, disaster workers are being intimidated and abused and now BP has even go so far as to hire an army of private mercenaries to enforce their will along the Gulf coast. Are we suddenly living in occupied Iraq?
How in the world did a foreign oil company get the right to start pointing guns at the American people? The last time I checked, BP did not own the Gulf of Mexico and did not have the right to tell the American people where they can and cannot go. The truth is that BP could have avoided all of this by running an open, honest and transparent operation from the start.
They could have welcomed help from all sources, they could have tried to be open with the media, and they could have tried to be fair with the volunteers and rescue workers. But instead BP has been conducting this whole thing as if we are living in a totalitarian dictatorship and they are the dictators.

Over the last several weeks, members of the mainstream media attempting to cover the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico have been yelled at, harassed, kicked off public beaches and threatened with arrest. The Obama administration keeps promising "to improve media access", but so far their promises haven't seemed to make much difference. In fact, a recent AP report detailed several recent highly disturbing incidents of journalist intimidation....
# On June 5, sheriff's deputies in Grand Isle threatened an AP photographer with arrest for criminal trespassing after he spoke to BP employees and took pictures of cleanup workers on a public beach.

# On June 6, an AP reporter was in a boat near an island in Barataria Bay when a man in another boat identifying himself as a U.S. Fish and Wildlife employee ordered the reporter to leave the area. When the reporter asked to see identification, the man refused, saying "My name doesn't matter, you need to go."
# According to a June 10 CNN video, one of the network's news crews was told by a bird rescue worker that he signed a contract with BP stating that he would not talk to the media. The crew was also turned away by BP contractors working at a bird triage area -- despite having permission from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to enter the facility.
# On June 11 and 12, private security guards patrolling in the Grand Isle area attempted repeatedly to prevent a crew from New Orleans television station WDSU from walking on a public beach and speaking with cleanup workers.
But it is not just the media that are being pushed around. The Louisiana Environmental Action Network is reporting that BP is actually threatening to fire fishermen hired to help with the oil spill cleanup for using respirators and other safety equipment that wasn't provided by the company.
Seriously."

Just as in the Andrew and Katrina fiascos, disasters seem to be social lab experiments to see how people respond to being intimidated by authority, either official or fake. Since 9/11 the fascists have been pushing the envelope in pushing people around, training us to be subservient. I'm sure immigration checkpoints on highways far from the border and those naked X ray scanners (which will soon be everywhere) are also a part of this.

How the ultimate BP Gulf disaster could kill millions

"Disturbing evidence is mounting that something frightening is happening deep under the waters of the Gulf of Mexico—something far worse than the BP oil gusher.Warnings were raised as long as a year before the Deepwater Horizon disaster that the area of seabed chosen by the BP geologists might be unstable, or worse, inherently dangerous. What makes the location that Transocean chose potentially far riskier than other potential oil deposits located at other regions of the Gulf? It can be summed up with two words: methane gas."

"With the emerging evidence of fissures, the quiet fear now is the methane bubble rupturing the seabed and exploding into the Gulf waters. If the bubble escapes, every ship, drilling rig and structure within the region of the bubble will instantaneously sink. All the workers, engineers, Coast Guard personnel and marine biologists measuring the oil plumes' advance will instantly perish.
As horrible as that is, what would follow is an event so potentially horrific that it equals in its fury the Indonesian tsunami that killed more than 600,000, or the destruction of Pompeii by Mt. Vesuvius.
The ultimate Gulf disaster, however, would make even those historical horrors pale by comparison. If the huge methane bubble breaches the seabed, it will erupt with an explosive fury similar to that experienced during the eruption of Mt. Saint Helens in the Pacific Northwest. A gas gusher will surge upwards through miles of ancient sedimentary rock—layer after layer—past the oil reservoir. It will explode upwards propelled by 50 tons psi, burst through the cracks and fissures of the compromised sea floor, and rupture miles of ocean bottom with one titanic explosion.
The burgeoning methane gas cloud will surface, killing everything it touches, and set off a supersonic tsunami with the wave traveling somewhere between 400 to 600 miles per hour.
While the entire Gulf coastline is vulnerable, the state most exposed to the fury of a supersonic wave towering 100 feet or more is Florida. The Sunshine State only averages about 6 inches above sea level. A supersonic tsunami would literally sweep away everything from Miami to the panhandle in a matter of minutes. Loss of human life would be virtually instantaneous and measured in the millions."
