UK Police Admit Massive Numbers Of Snoop Cameras Have No Effect On Crime

So what is all that surveillance for?

CCTV boom has failed to slash crime, say police
"Massive investment in CCTV cameras to prevent crime in the UK has failed to have a significant impact, despite billions of pounds spent on the new technology, a senior police officer piloting a new database has warned. Only 3% of street robberies in London were solved using CCTV images, despite the fact that Britain has more security cameras than any other country in Europe."

But no matter, you see, they're about to enhance the technology anyway.

You see, if you're no safer from crime, that must mean they're not surveilling enough.

Maybe not safer from CRIME, but safer in general, safer and more secure overall. Not one single train station has been bombed in the last TWO YEARS - uh, 22 months, okay, ALMOST two years. And, and, AND: Not one single person has been trampled by an elephant or killed by a tiger - which is a hell of a lot better than, say, San Francisco.

So much privacy left, so little time to destroy.
