'Pedia Wars

I don't know about anyone else but I just haven't gotten into the apparently furious battle for information content at the various online encyclopedias. When I need to check some hard data like a specific date or exact name, Wikipedia is just fine and I have no problem with subjective bias because I know it'll be there. After all the place is fluid and dynamic with anyone able to make modifications. Unless you've got the hots for editing content and no desire for an external life you'll be spending all your time furiously battling differing opinions in the edit wars.

Some groups, though, seem to think it's the most important activity in the known universe to slant information their way, and are quite well funded and orchestrated:

"A pro-Israel pressure group is orchestrating a secret, long-term campaign to infiltrate the popular online encyclopedia Wikipedia to rewrite Palestinian history, pass off crude propaganda as fact, and take over Wikipedia administrative structures to ensure these changes go either undetected or unchallenged.
A series of emails by members and associates of the pro-Israel group CAMERA (Committee for Accuracy in Middle East Reporting in America), provided to The Electronic Intifada (EI), indicate the group is engaged in what one activist termed a “war” on Wikipedia.
A 13 March action alert signed by Gilead Ini, a “Senior Research Analyst” at CAMERA, calls for “volunteers who can work as ‘editors’ to ensure” that Israel-related articles on Wikipedia are “free of bias and error, and include necessary facts and context.” However, subsequent communications indicate that the group not only wanted to keep the effort secret from the media, the public, and Wikipedia administrators, but that the material they intended to introduce included discredited claims that could smear Palestinians and Muslims and conceal Israel’s true history."

It goes on to list all the myriad ways the little army of zionist censors can remain undetected while they go about altering facts and rewriting history, in short joining in an unsavory, coordinated attack for your mind. Funny how this mirrors Fox tactics, when they pass biased opinions and propaganda off as facts while endlessly presenting themselves as fair and balanced. There's quite a bit more to this zionist effort to counter what they see as a threat to their image, and with good reason, just google Hasbara Fellowship or Fair Witness. It takes a lot of hard work to obfuscate decades of lies, deception and bloodshed.

There are other collaborative online encyclopedias, undoubtedly also under attack to be sneakily tweaked, like WorldBrainBook, Open-Site and Scholarpedia. But there's one place where dedicated propagandists don't need to be covert about plying their trade and that's Conservapedia, the last bastion of hope for humanity. This refreshing alternative to that communist, anti Israeli cesspool called Wikipedia is proud to offer up the unvarnished truth about the known universe, concentrating on topics of great concern to conservatives as evidenced by their Popular Pages list. Funny how it's users are heavy on homosexuality topics. Not that there's anything wrong with that.
