For Repugs It's An Emergency Urgency

They just can't help expressing their pressing need for terror attacks, can they?
Now it's Ricky Santorum on the Hugh Hewitt radio show:

"Between now and November, a lot of things are going to happen, and I believe that by this time next year, the American public’s going to have a very different view of this war, and it will be because, I think, of some unfortunate events, that like we’re seeing unfold in the UK. But I think the American public’s going to have a very different view."

Last month Dennis Milligan, chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party, spoke thusly:

"At the end of the day, I believe fully the president is doing the right thing, and I think all we need is some attacks on American soil like we had on [Sept. 11, 2001], and the naysayers will come around very quickly to appreciate not only the commitment for President Bush, but the sacrifice that has been made by men and women to protect this country."

On 11/10/2005 Capitol Hill Blue published an article that exposed a republican internal memo that in effect said it would be slightly unfortunate but just dandy if terror happened to occur in america. The article has since been taken down but a copy exists at Prison Planet:

"A confidential memo circulating among senior Republican leaders suggests that a new attack by terrorists on U.S. soil could reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush as well as the GOP and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."
The closely-guarded memo lays out a list of scenarios to bring the Republican party back from the political brink, including a devastating attack by terrorists that could “validate” the President’s war on terror and allow Bush to “unite the country” in a “time of national shock and sorrow.”

It's gotten to the point that the all republican party stands for now is corruption, unbridled greed and abject fear. Both parties are filled with undesirable slugs but the repugs truly leave a slime trail behind them. Of course they would benefit immensely from some sort of fear producing event or series of events inside or outside the US.
9/11 seemed like a gift from the gods themselves to enable the scumbags to initiate a whole series of unconstitutional measures that they wouldn't have had a snowball's chance in hell of enacting otherwise. Their agenda isn't complete, these vermin have even bigger plans for us, and they can't keep from wishing out loud how fortunate they'd be, if only.

It's more than interesting that Santorum would mouth such stuff. There seems to be a budding relationship between him and a certain guy who started calling himself "america's mayor" after the events on 9/11.

Giuliani campaigned heavily for Santorum when he was in his fight for his senate seat in 2004. In March Giuliani hired Ricky's former campaign manager to be his regional political director for the Northeastern states. The fascists still have their ace of spades in the hole, no matter how far they plunge in the polls and no matter what else happens in the world, they can always pull another Black Tuesday event on us. Guess who would be positioned to benefit mightily from something like that?

Yes, I understand they're conducting interviews of potential terrorist/patsies now. The most important question is "would you be willing to die for your cause?" (so that we can bury you along with our complicity).
