NASA Changes LCROSS Crater Target
"NASA Ames Research Center said Sept. 28 that it has shifted the target for the Oct. 9 impact site for the Lunar Crater Observation and Sensing Satellite (LCROSS) from the small Cabeus A1 crater to the larger, main Cabeus crater at the moon's south pole.
The shift is regarded as minor - it is roughly 60 miles from the old to new targets - and well within propellant margins for the mission, an Ames official said. The decision was made Sept. 25 with the Lunar Precursor Robotic Program office at Marshall Space Flight Center and was factored into the most recent LCROSS trajectory correction maneuver. The LCROSS impact will occur at 4:30 a.m. PDT."
About $80,000,000 to bomb the moon. How far we've fallen.

hmmm.... I wrote a sci-fi called "Ice on the Moon" in 1994, but it isn't exactly about actual ice, so much as a reason for a cover-up of the Apollo missions.
As tapped as I am financially, I have to wonder if there's any way I can capitalize on it now, as in exploitation of an opportunity.
