A quake swarm, 39 by my count in the last 12 hours or so. Up until recently science pooh poohed the idea that strong earthquakes in one part of the crust could affect faults in other parts. Now it's accepted that that they do, sometimes thousands of miles away.

"BERKELEY, Calif. -- The earthquake that hit the Indonesian island of Sumatra Wednesday morning occurred on the same fault line as the massive 2004 quake that killed 200,000 people. Coincidentally, a new research project released the same day indicates a link between that quake and the San Andreas fault here in California."
"Partnering with researchers from Rice University and the Carnegie Institution, the two Berkeley seismologists published a ground-breaking study Wednesday in the journal Nature.
They found that the 2004 Sumatra quake was followed by a spike in seismic activity and large quakes around the world. And they said it even caused a weakening of the San Andreas fault."
I rented and watched "State of Play" last night, with Russel Crowe, Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Helen Mirren. A good film somewhat deflated at the very end by sudden plot twists that negated the previous hour and a half of excellent, tense story telling.
The plot? (at least until they switched gears) A freshman congressman leads a fight against a powerful private corporation intent on using mercenaries to take over domestic intelligence and homeland security. It's a defense contractor that wants to bring it's operations home from Iraq and Afghanistan to essentially privatize domestic law enforcement.

I am getting caught up on the news as always at your site!! I enjoyed the Max Keiser video enormously and laughed -altho it was a sad laugh when the woman reporter on his show said you didnt see any bankers being bundled up into cars and driven away by goons-urban survival-they have done this type of thing many times-kind of the boy crying wolf thing by now-but I always get slightly interested despite myself says October 25 could be a date around which the dollar collapses and the world financial system tanks-I say this regarding the site and the predicting tool (web bots) they use with a grain of salt in many ways as I cant tell you the number of times I have seen apocalyptic statements on that site -I am taking a wait and see attitude and prepping as much as I can -which isnt much-we are in deep shit I think-and it is not a matter of if a huge crisis erupts -it is just a matter of when now-with the financial problems the world over and all it is too much to be solved-they probably intend to solve it by a global holocaust or swine flu -a mix of things maybe-best to all of you as always!!

Over the years I've seen how the agenda of total control is unfolding.They learned from the nazis and go out of their way to avoid goose stepping down the avenues. Real power is hidden, they want to take things slowly to keep us frogs from noticing the water temp. They want us to be always slightly sick, slightly out of work with constant low intensity war in the background. IMO 9/11 was a risky but necessary punctuated equilibrium for them to jump start things they normally couldn't have done.
Even though things have accelerated, and catastrophic events get tossed around some, I think our overlords would prefer that slow and steady pace since they're reaping enormous benefits. They want a gradual erosion of the dollar and a smooth transition to new currencies. They want to destroy Iran but not so much as to crash the world economy. They need to establish a massive police state but will do it with mercenaries so it won't be martial law, donchaknow. (Hardin, MT being a test case) And their deadly vaccine will eventually kill millions and cause widespread infertility, but over time, because they think time is on their side.
But it isn't. They think they're gods with instigating all this worldwide calamity but events will cascade out of their control. Because there's one thing I've also learned in my years Devin, great hubris always contains it's own seeds of destruction. As in "The harder they come..."
