Bushistas Also Stirring Up Trouble Down South

Alleging Coup Plot, Chávez Ousts U.S. Envoy

"CARACAS, Venezuela — President Hugo Chávez of Venezuela said Thursday that he was expelling the American ambassador, Patrick Duddy, giving him 72 hours to leave the country. Mr. Chávez took this step after he said his government had discovered an American-supported plot by military officers to topple him.
He also recalled his ambassador to Washington, Bernardo Álvarez, and explained his decision by expressing solidarity with Bolivia’s embattled president, Evo Morales, who on Wednesday expelled the American ambassador there, Philip S. Goldberg, accusing him of supporting rebellious groups in eastern Bolivia. The State Department responded by saying it was declaring Bolivia’s ambassador to Washington persona non grata. (...)
Mr. Chávez said Thursday that a plot to overthrow and assassinate him had been uncovered and that the Bush administration was behind it. Neither the State Department in Washington nor a spokeswoman at the American Embassy here would comment on the expulsion and the latest charges. On Wednesday night, state television here played what it described as intercepts of phone discussions between active-duty and retired military officers that referred to a plot to take Miraflores, the presidential palace."

The pattern of tit for tat goes on, just like the fascists want as they deliberately fuel a new cold war. Russians were incensed that the Bushistas would create a bloodbath right on their border in South Ossetia and in retaliation are sending their military into america's bathtub.
Of course all this provocation and talk of coup plots could just be Rovian style fear mongering leading up to November 4. But it's curious that exactly thirty five years ago the CIA overthrew allende in Chile on 9/11 1973, and our cultish criminals love those numerology things.
Along with expelling the diplomats, Chavez ordered a cut in american air flights to Venezuela.

Only a matter of time until the South Americans are pushed to the point of turning off the oil flow, which is apparently the goal. Chavez and the Bolivarian movement are square in the fascist crosshairs for two reasons - they're a threat of a good example in the reegion. Populism and democracy must be crushed and corporate compliant regimes must be put in place to ensure oil profits flow northward instead of benefitting the Venezuelan people. And oh, that's right, Venezuela has a shitload of oil. If Washington pushes Caracas to the point where oil trade stops, the fascists will label Chavez a terrorist and then be free to switch to more strident methods, all the while claiming national security. Stirring up trouble is a way of life for people who profit from the tension.
