The story on that last picture is that the Tigress lost her cubs, I can't remember the details. She became really depressed, so they dressed up the piglets and she began nursing and was very happy again.
That's incredible. Strange how the maternal instinct overpowered her others.
Great pictures - thanks. And what a nice the background story, bpaul. So much for the "they're just dumb animals" viewpoint.
I believe instead of a maternal instinct there is a protective instinct that all people share regardless of sex. It's just that females have the equipment and the ability to nourish on the run. Great pics.
You gotta know that I LOVE these pictures. Too bad people couldn't be as gentle to one another as these animals are.
