FBI And DHS Making Up Terror Threat

With veiled reference to bloggers.

'Lone-wolf terrorists' may threaten Mideast summit

"Law-enforcement officials gearing up for the Middle East peace conference next week in Annapolis will be on the lookout for “lone-wolf terrorists” trying to disrupt the meetings.
According to a terrorist threat assessment issued this week by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, there is no credible information that “extremist organizations” based in Maryland have targeted the conference or nearby Islamic or Jewish sites for disruption or a terrorist attack.
Nonetheless, DHS does not discount the threat of the lone-wolf terrorists, including individuals radicalized by homegrown extremist groups or Internet content,” the threat assessment said."

But there is no credible information that there is an imminent threat against the homeland.”

So why release a non story like this, as if they pulled it out of thin air?
Probably for several reasons. Just like any ponderous bureaucracy they have to make it look like they're on the ball doing something even if it's just make-work paper shuffling. Probably also to unveil a new brand name - Lone Wolf Terrorists, which they came up with after rejecting Keyboard Konspirators and Infohighway Insurgents.

added - US To Demand Israelis Stop Eating Muslim Pistachios - "I think Israelis should eat American pistachios, not Iranian ones," said Stewart Tuttle, spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, stamping his feet in frustration.
