No Porn Or Booze If You're An Aborigine
"Pornography and alcohol will be banned for Aborigines in Australia's Northern Territory, the country's prime minister, John Howard, announced today, after a report found that "rivers of grog" were leading to rampant child abuse."
It's not only a simple ban on things but a draconian police state system put into place. Troops and police are going to invade and sieze control of many indigenous settlements all across the Northern Territory. Strict controls are going to be placed on welfare with non compliance to new laws meaning cessation of payments. The government is basically turning back the clock to the 1800s with white 'administrative' control over the aboriginal camps and reservations. It's all being done supposedly for the kids, but there won't be any new funds allocated for social services.
"He made no apology for overriding NT laws to implement his plans, saying protecting children of tender ages was more important than constitutional niceties."
Where have we heard that shit before.
I'd like to see how long a booze ban would last in white neighborhoods.

Yeah, no surprise here. They are black and poor so automatically the white government knows what is best for them. Doesn't matter that they were here thousands of years before the whites. Doesn't matter that the whites probably stole their land from them and turned them into beggars.
Reminds me of the Native Americans.
So many parallels between Oz and this country. It seems the rush to apply a military solution to any and all problems is a shared trait also.
