The way the stickers could help you is to warn you there's dangerous radiation around so you don't hang around and get fried. A dose of radiation requires both radiation and time being exposed to it. The longer you are, the higher the dose you get. Like sunbathing mid-day, a few minutes isn't bad, three hours could be. Regardless the intensity of the radiation, you want to get away from it quickly and if you don't know it's around you don't know to leave.
