Cheeky Twitter: Say No To Crack

Mooning Amtrak - Laguna Niguel, California

"Starting in 1979 at the Mugs Away Saloon after a drinker offered to buy a drink for anyone that ran outside and mooned the next train. Apparently a single customer took him up on his kind offer and 30 years later it is largest public Mooning event in the world.
People come from all over Southern California to line up along side the train tracks, dropping their jeans as trains passes by.The 2010 event saw over 10,000 people come participate, the event organizers encouraged everyone to leave their cars at home and arrive by train in an interesting twist of humor. Amtrak Authorities have reported that tickets sales for the Orange Country Coaster Line ever at an all time high during the event.
Each year sees the event grow about 10% due mostly to an aggressive word of mouth campaign by those that have taken part in past years. As the event grows in size, local radio stations have added to its allure by giving it amazing reviews.

2008 saw for the first time that police and helicopters were brought in from neighboring towns to help control surging crowds and a general drunkenness. In effort to maintain some control over the event, the city of Laguna Niguel issues a warning from it's website telling visitors to "avoid the area", as well as launching a "Say 'No' to Crack" campaign on its official twitter feed.
In an effort of combat this negative image, the event has launched its own website "31st Annual Mooning Amtrak" it also started another tradition "5th Annual Mooning Metrolink." It offers clear directions to Camino Capistrano, where people drop pants and bend over, sharing all their fleshy glory. Additionally it lists train times through out the day so you can plan ahead for your public disrobing. If you are a night owl, or simply work till later in the day, never fear for there are night moonings to. "Bring a flash light with plenty of batteries, or better yet, bring a camping lantern," Official Advice."
