Just Don't Call It A Crusade

GIs Told to Bring Afghans to Jesus

"DOHA, Qatar -- U.S. Soldiers have been encouraged to spread the message of their Christian faith among Afghanistan's predominantly Muslim population, video footage obtained by Al Jazeera appears to show.
Military chaplains stationed in the U.S. air base at Bagram were also filmed with Bibles printed in the country's main Pashto and Dari languages.
In one recorded sermon, Lt. Col. Gary Hensley, the chief of the U.S. military chaplains in Afghanistan, is seen telling Soldiers that as followers of Jesus Christ, they all have a responsibility "to be witnesses for him".
"The special forces guys -- they hunt men basically. We do the same things as Christians, we hunt people for Jesus. We do, we hunt them down," he says.
"Get the hound of heaven after them, so we get them into the kingdom. That's what we do, that's our business."

The army got somewhat sniffy about the accusations.

US army 'does not promote religion'

"The US's highest ranking military officer has said it is not the US military's position to promote any specific religion, after Al Jazeera revealed footage of troops apparently preparing to convert Afghans to their Christian faith."

like pat robertson and his kind who, under the guise of "helping" folks, set out a some war-torn and/or poverty-stricken village, do some cleaning up, provide needed assistance, etc. and yet preach about and hand out information on jesus and christianity. at least be honest about it and say we have another agenda going on. we're here to help. and convert.

Stepping back from it all we have to ask ourselves, just what the fuck are we doing in the ravaged place after all? I mean sure, there are the grand Illuminati type schemes behind the scenes but what the hell does that have to do with all the thousands of everyday troops on the ground? Absolutely nothing.

So how do the manipulators try to motivate the ordinary grunts and joes? With this time honored religious garbage, feeding their jeebus fixation, giving them some asinine reason to put their lives on the line away from their families so long.
