Mr Change To Chat A Bit Before Sending In The Killer Drones

Day after day, I'm seeing this president as a well spoken, well packaged con man.

Obama to ‘Consult’ Pakistan Before Hitting Militants

"President Barack Obama today promised that he would continue to launch strikes against extremists in Pakistan, but only after “consulting” with that nation’s government. He insisted that this was part of a broad strategy to stabilize the Pakistani government and improve their economy as a means of destroying al-Qaeda.
At the same time the president seemed to rule out,
at least in the near term, ground forces taking place inside Pakistan. He insisted that the current plan “does not change the recognition of Pakistan as a sovereign state,” while promising that the strategy will continue to be adjusted over time."
Blah, blah...

added - A Terrorist-Producing Machine

"With the possible exception of the war on drugs, it would be difficult to find a greater terrorist-producing machine than the U.S. government’s occupation of Afghanistan."

It appears so nolocontendre-so very unfortunately -I busted my butt to vote early for the guy -at the Rigorous Intuition discussion forum a person had the idea that Obama was also picked to deflect anger towards the ruling class as a "new man" best to you and the Mrs and all who comment here!! it looks like another all-American screw job!!

That RI forum poster is spot on IMO. Change isn't re-labeling and shuffling the deck chairs whiule doing the exact same things as your predecessor.

I don't know if I agree with you on this. I think it's legitimate to strike at those who want to do us harm, no matter where they are. If these people are within a country that doesn't have the ability to strike at them effectively, then we should do it - but only with that country's ok. I think that's a reasonable way to fight the war on terror, or whatever it's being called these days.

Well in essense you're correct about self defense, but what exactly are we doing there? Even the military itself doesn't know what the hell is going on except that it's a cash cow and a great testing ground for whiz bang weaponry.
I never bought the good war stuff because the whole premise of invading Afghanistan was predicated on 9/11 which was a massive lie. And our continued presense insures that this will always get worse. Occupations never, ever work.
