So glad you are still able to post! I think you made a very wise decision to get while the gettings good. Even 10-15 years ago had someone told me what America would be like in the 21st century I would have scoffed. Apparently there were some who saw this coming for a long time. As I am no prophet or psychic-I am a bit reluctant to say this but in this batshit crazy "election" cycle we are going through it would not surprise me if either McCain or Obama will be the actual contenders come election day. That is if they let us proles have an election.Best wishes as always!-Devin
I agree Devin. Things are changing so fast now, on an hourly basis, that an "election" as we once knew it is no longer a foregone conclusion and the characters in this Kabuki theater are by no means assured. I thought just after the repug ticket was settled on that they wouldn't be able to put enough lipstick on that pig to sell it, and that a last minute change would hog all the media attention. Also the financial catastrophe + widespread war might obviate the whole shittaree if the manipulators didn't see their way to 100% satisfaction.
As for exiting, to me it's just a matter of cutting losses and hanging on to options that wouldn't be available if we clung to the life we had. If what I think will happen does happen I want to be free to move around at a moment's notice and be as far away from large centers of population as possible. The reason for this last sentiment will probably become more obvious as time goes on.
