Lying About Crowd Sizes And Everything Else

And then lying about who estimated them. They're just pulling things out of their asses and getting a free ride from media whores.

McCain-Palin Crowd-Size Estimates Not Backed by Officials

"Senator John McCain has drawn some of the biggest crowds of his presidential campaign since adding Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to his ticket on Aug. 29. Now officials say they can't substantiate the figures McCain's aides are claiming.
McCain aide Kimmie Lipscomb told reporters on Sept. 10 that an outdoor rally in Fairfax City, Virginia, drew 23,000 people, attributing the crowd estimate to a fire marshal.
Fairfax City Fire Marshal Andrew Wilson said his office did not supply that number to the campaign and could not confirm it. Wilson, in an interview, said the fire department does not monitor attendance at outdoor events.

In recent days, journalists attending the rallies have been raising questions about the crowd estimates with the campaign. In a story on Sept. 11 about Palin's attraction for some Virginia women voters, Washington Post reporter Marc Fisher estimated the crowd to be 8,000, not the 23,000 cited by the campaign."

Scales. Eyes. McCain.

"Right now, we are being subjected to an absolutely disorienting blizzard of lies and absurdities (Palin is a lying absurdity) from the McCain campaign. The idea is to so disorient people, to throw so many new concepts, brands, lies, images, marketing and distortions at them that they will not be able to focus on the issues in this election, and the real choices serious people have to make."

Lies, Half-truths and Contradictions: McCain On "The View"

"If there's one crew you don't mess with, it's the posse on "The View." But Sen. John McCain must not be watching enough daytime TV."

Campaign of lies disgraces McCain

"McCain's straight talk has become a toxic mix of lies and double-speak."

It's so bad even Karl Fucking Rove trashes him

The recent gallup poll for the entire US puts McStain ahead of Obama, according to either Fox or CNN, can't recall which. I'd guess that those figures are also fixed. I cannot believe more people like McStain than Obama. It's pure BS.

I have to wonder, though, how many people who see those figures are forced to rethink their votes, which is, of course, exactly what a fixed poll aims for.

I can't help but blame the Democratic Party in large part for McCain being ahead of Obama. First off, their incredible ineffectualness as an opposition party for years has alienated a lot of people who would otherwise be enthusiastic supporters of the party and it presidential nominee. And secondly, they could have come up with a better candidate for president than Obama (like, for instance, a genuine populist).
