Police deny going undercover at Ottawa summit

They basically were forced to admit what they were doing because of the video which clearly shows the undercover cops carrying rocks, and a union president telling them to put the rocks down. They would have preferred to stick with their lie but decided to purse their lips and brave it out. Johnny Depp wouldn't have gotten caught.

I watched the video one day this week but I didn't know they had fessed up to it. So what will happen to them now? Will they be charged with trying to start a riot? The protesters would have been if they had done something like this.
They'll probly admit to the undercover job but deny that they actually intended to incite a riot. Since no actual violence occurred, they'll get off easy with a tiny slap on the hand.
The most significant result of this, as others I'm sure have agreed, is that the police will go on record as admitting to this kind of undercover work and it will become much harder for them to deny it in the future.
If it hurts anyone, it will hurt anarchists that like to toss some violent actions into their protests to emphasize their anger towards the ruling-class fiasco we are led to think of as a "democratic government". It may also become much harder for people to defend themselves against police-state actions.
