Disappearing News

I guess propaganda works both ways - there are things that you can present which are false and misleading or you can choose not to present something at all, therefore it appears that it never happened.
Over at fellow swine NewsHog, I caught sight of a short but interesting piece called "Parliament fails to meet due too many no-shows." -

"BAGHDAD, Iraq: Iraq's parliament failed to reconvene as scheduled Tuesday because so few members showed up after the month's recess.
Only about a dozen of the 275 members of parliament appeared at the Green Zone parliament building. Officials said the assembly would not try to meet again until sometime next week.
The legislature has several urgent items to consider including the oil law, constitutional review and changes in regulations that effectively bar many Sunnis from government jobs."

Now I agree with Cernig that this is a huge story. Central to the fascist lies about Iraq is the appearance of a functioning government of the Iraqis themselves, and not a puppet satrapy controlled by outside interests. That way the resistance can be painted as criminal and not as heroic Iraqi patriots taking on an invading force.

But a measly 12 out of 275 people bothered to show up indicating they just don't give a shit, couldn't care less about pretending, or are afraid to be seen as collaborators after handing their oil over to the occupiers. In any case it's not a functioning government but a Potemkin village set up to fool and impress, in this case not the Iraqis themselves who have seen through the bullshit for years but us, the braindead, Foxified american dupes. That illusion has to be maintained.

Which is why this story is nowhere to be found in all the places I tried. An Associated Press piece like this one should be easy to locate from any number of sources. But news about a non functioning pretend parliament in the Deciderer's house of horrors apparently needs to be disappeared.
