Next Move On The Grand Chessboard

During the cold war us oldsters remember 'the domino theory' that was actually first uttered by an antiwar activist, a professor George Kahin, but was embraced by the warmongers who gave us Vietnam. It maintained that if one country fell to Communism, the surrounding countries would also eventually fall to Communism, so that gave you the excuse you needed to bomb the hell out of some brown skinned people. It wasn't the only anti communist slogan, there were others like the Missile Gap and Creeping Socialism and Red Tide, but it put forth the idea that a scary rival political and economic system was always on the march if you weren't vigilant.

Slight twist on Galatians 4:16 - Am I therefore become my enemy? Flash forward to today and how else are we to describe american foreign policy than Creeping Fascism? (or Creeping Corporatism if you're Mussolini) Several years ago, before Iraq became hell on earth, timid attempts were actually put forth that this reversal should be touted as a Very Good Thing.

The US is on the march any number of ways - trading on the self mutilation of 9/11 to establish bases in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. Phony baloney fraud at the UN to rape Iraq. Bribing Turkey. "Peace keeping missions" in Africa. Military 'advisers' and spooks in Central America. This country has over 700 military bases and installations in a plethora of countries worldwide. They're the shock troops to pave the way for hegemonic corporate exploitation and control but of course we're merely spreading democracy. And the fascists really, really want to spread their version of democracy to Iran.

But at the same time they don't want to be tagged as aggressors. Never mind that the US has invaded Iraq, killed hundreds of thousands of it's citizens and is raping it's resources, as if that isn't aggression. The program calls for Iran to be declared the belligerent and the US to be the victim, so there's been a steady drumbeat going back to before Israel bombed the hell out of Lebanon that it's Iran who is fomenting war in the region.

So right on cue, the pentagon starts to claim definitive proof that Iran has a death wish and wants to go to war with the US:

"We have weapons that we know through serial numbers … that trace back to Iran," Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno said in an interview with USA TODAY."

Of course the military has all those numbers, don't ask silly questions.

From the secretary of the defense on down we're going to be bludgeoned by assertions that Iran not only has the desire to make nukes and use them on it's neighbors but actively kills americans. Accusations are coming fast and furious. ( Funny how one of the screeching alarmist reporters is the same one who lied about those aluminum tubes in Iraq) If and when the fascists decide to pull a synthetic attack and blame it on the Iranians the stage would have already been set for the ignorati to believe that they actually did it. Add to this the bald faced lie that Ahmadinejad wants to do the holocaust dance on Israeli graves. In December, then US ambassador and world class shitbag John Bolton called on the UN International Court of Criminal Justice to charge Ahmadinejad with "inciting genocide".

Analysts admit any attack on Iran will swiftly become nuclear.

Just like accusing communism with what the US is doing, Bolton's comment is just more of that penchant for fascist projection.
