9/11 Redux

From "Capitol Hill Blue":
A confidential memo circulating among senior Republican leaders suggests that a new attack by terrorists on U.S. soil could reverse the sagging fortunes of President George W. Bush as well as the GOP and "restore his image as a leader of the American people."
The closely-guarded memo lays out a list of scenarios to bring the Republican party back from the political brink, including a devastating attack by terrorists that could “validate” the President’s war on terror and allow Bush to “unite the country” in a “time of national shock and sorrow.”The memo says such a reversal in the President's fortunes could keep the party from losing control of Congress in the 2006 midterm elections
Gotta love the fascists. They've got an open ended capacity to reduce the human experience to sheer brutal expediency.
They've been thinktanking these "events" forever. It's what they do.
Hegel was a German philosopher. In the early 19th century he formulated his "Hegelian Dialectic" view of history. The modern equivalent goes like this:
There's a problem.
You create a reaction to that problem.
Voila! A solution to your liking.
The fascist playbook is centered around this concept. And since the very nature of fascism involves manipulation and control, it's a very short step indeed to apply the above equation to human affairs. Here's a small, but typical example:
Problem - huge antiwar protest that embarrasses the warmakers.
Reaction - send in agents provocateur to cause trouble, riot police break up demonstration.
Solution - voila! no more protest.
The Project for a New American Century (PNAC) is a neo-conservative think tank linked to the Defense-Intelligence establishment, the Republican Party and the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) which plays a behind-the-scenes role in the formulation of US foreign policy. One year before 9/11, the PNAC called for "some catastrophic and catalyzing event, like a new Pearl Harbor," which would serve to galvanize US public opinion in support of a war agenda.
Then came 9/11, and any thoughtful individual knows how credible the official explanation of that day is.
Think they won't do it again?
