How Bad Is It?
Pasco, Florida devastation.
Two years ago I dragged a trailer to Florida to see my ailing, elderly father. I took I40 to Nashville then south. I'm telling you that the stretch through Alabama from Birmingham to Montgomery was the most ugly scene I've ever experienced. It looked like Germany must have been after WW2. A lot of strip malls along interstate 65 and most were total ghost towns.
Torched cars, boarded up storefronts, trash everywhere. This was two years ago.
I took I10 back out west, but of course you have to go through New Orleans which is still Katrinafied and take your chances over miles of rotting bayou bridges.
