Obama Encircles US War Machine Around Libya

"President Barack Obama has instructed the Pentagon to reposition U.S. military forces around Libya as the administration prepares to exploit a humanitarian crisis to seize de facto control over the largest oil producing country in the continent of Africa, following the advice of top neo-cons who have urged Obama to use U.S. forces to topple the Gaddafi regime.

“We have planners working and various contingency plans and I think it’s safe to say as part of that we’re repositioning forces to be able to provide for that flexibility once decisions are made … to be able to provide options and flexibility,” Colonel David Lapan, a Pentagon spokesman, said today.

Meanwhile, the Obama administration has openly stated its intention to aid Libyan rebels fighting to overthrow Gaddafi, publicly confirming that the revolution has the full blessing and support of the US military-industrial complex.

“We’ve been reaching out to many different Libyans who are attempting to organize in the east and, as the revolution moves westward, there as well,” Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said today en route to Geneva, where she is due to meet with the foreign ministers of six major world powers to discuss imposing sanctions as well as a no fly zone on Libya.

As happened under Bill Clinton during years of sanctions against Iraq, such measures will only deepen the suffering of the population and will do nothing to avert the humanitarian crisis. They will however weaken Gaddafi’s political position, enhancing the swift success of any US-backed coup."

This will be the fifth time the US will have taken military action in Libya - after two Barbary wars, WW2 and Reagan sending jets in 1986. This time it will be for keeps in order to take control of the largest oil producer in Africa. It's blatant theft under a humanitarian guise because aside from some small phony gestures meant to fool the gullible, the Libyan people will suffer far more from occupation and repression than at any time under Gaddafi.
I would guarantee that just like the occupation of Haiti that was justified by a HAARP induced earthquake, very soon after the US military does it's shock and awe act, other things will sweep Libya off the front pages where it's been so prominently placed to prepare the unwary.
Once they do this, it will fade from notice, and the people who supposedly matter in that country won't mean a motherfucking thing anymore, as empire will have accomplished their task to steal the oil and have moved on to another goal, while american dullards are at each others' throats scratching for crumbs.
