The Lies Never Stop

Twenty years ago, July 25 - US ambassador April Glaspie to Saddam Hussein:

"But we have no opinion on the Arab-Arab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait."

August 2 1990- Iraq invades Kuwait

January 16, 1991 - White House spokesflack Marlin Fitzwater:

"The liberation of Kuwait has begun."

May 1 2003 - Bush mob "Mission Accomplished" speech

Obama, today - "Combat mission" in Iraq to end this month

But 50,000 troops are staying for whatever blah blah reason they care to yank out of their asses, along with who knows how many contractors and mercenaries and spooks. Death squads and operatives need to maintain control over the broken people in their ravaged country. They're not about to hand shit over to the Iraqis. Iraq will remain a subservient vassal state, a hard won colony that's a forward stepping stone for empire to muscle around in the middle east.
