Pot, Kettle
Israel's stage managed piracy yesterday was such a blatant piece of manipulative propaganda that it shows how desperate the zionist entity is these days. How utterly fortuitous it was that Israel just happened to luckily capture 'Iranian arms' bound for Hezbollah (who the propagandists decided would be the supposed recipients) on the same day that the UN started discussing the devastating Goldstone report detailing crimes against humanity in Gaza a year ago. What timing!
In fact the Chosen Ones credit the Chooser:
"Officials in Jerusalem had not dared even to dream of better timing for the capture of the vessel carrying so much arms and ammunition bound for Hezbollah," an editorial in Israel's Maariv newspaper said.
"The capture of the ship was, for Israel, like a gift from heaven."
Forget that all the parties involved in this propaganda fest, Iran, Syria, Cyprus, Hezbollah and the Palestinians deny involvement. Ignore that UN report saying they couldn't find any evidence of arms smuggled to Lebanon. Forget that the ship's seizure was piracy in international waters. Absolutely forget Goldstone. However do remember the plucky little democracy surrounded by the snarling arab hordes, and it's vulnerable yet valiant struggle:
"Maybe this is what will dispel the clouds of the Goldstone report and show the world which one is David and which one is Goliath."
But let's say there were weapons being sent to one of Israel's neighbors. Would that be such an unreasonable thing in light of constant threats from the terror state? Does Israel have exceptional status as the only bunch in the neighborhood licensed to receive weaponry and loot (to the tune of hundreds of billions of dollars) over many decades? Even if there were armaments aboard the Francop, in light of slaughtered Palestinians wouldn't it have been more reasonable for an international seizure of Apache helicopter shipments from the US to Israel?
But ignore the flood of guns, ammunition, missiles and cluster bombs pouring into Israel every year. Definitely forget about an interesting discovery a little over a year ago that fueled a murderous dustup: Russian general reveals extensive Israeli military aid to Georgia And smuggled Israeli weapons found in Chechnya, Ingushetia and Dagestan.

And absolutely disregard the history of Irangate from the 80s, when Israel clandestinely and illegally sent american weapons to it's future adversary and newly established Islamic Republic of Iran.

I agree with the conclusions of this post. What really irks me is that antiwar.com doesn't spell this all out when it should. It gives front-page headlines to the Israeli seizure in ways that it never gives to the other articles that you have linked to support your conclusions. Really disappointed in antiwar.com.
Raimondo has been pretty good over the years, I think it's just that we reached a tipping point some time ago. You and I took that proverbial red pill. They didn't. They simply refuse to go the extra mile, probably because of their charity status and the need for donations.
Another great article on the Israeli Pirates of the Mediterranean. I don't know how you do it. You really crank out the articles. Great stuff on the swine flu scam as well. I too wrote on this subject in little article I titled Swine flu emergency or a bunch of baloney?.
But anyway, enough shameless promotion. I found a few links on the Israeli piracy case that you be interested in. I don't know what exactly what to make of them. So I'm hoping you can decipher them.
First up a couple of articles from DEBKAfile. They pretend to go into detail about the supposed drug running operation, but I think they get slightly hysterical. Anyway, if your not bored with this whole farce yet take a look at these links.
Captured Iranian arms ship tip of the iceberg of vast weapons sealift to Hizballah
Israel Navy commander: Hizballah arms ship carried hundreds of tons of hardware
They go into a whole drama about how the arms passed through the Suez and were shadowed by the US and Israeli Navy in the Mediterranean. Very Tom Clancy.
I decided to check up on some of their info and found this. On a site called MarineTraffic.com they have information on ships and they include the Iranian ship "Visea". There are links to maps of the exact location. So Iran is doing a great job of keeping this hidden. You don't need a satellite to track this ship - just a PC.
MarineTraffic info on Visea
And on another site called United Feeder Services I found information on the Francop. The ship apparently runs a regular schedule which includes Beirut, Lebanon.
Francop schedule
My own theory is that when the Francop was at the Egyptian port of Damietta, the arms were smuggled on board. Egypt has been working alongside Israel to crush Hamas. This is well known. So it wouldn't surprise me to find out they were working with Mossad on this operation as well.
I hope this helps.
Damn, I admire your research skills. Very few people are willing to go the extra mile to dig up information.
The problem with Debka is that it's an intelligence operation, well known as a propaganda outlet. But that's never kept me from paying attention to it because they'll mix in a lot of interesting stuff.
Hard part is to separate the wheat from the chaff.
For one thing it's disengenuous for Debka to sniff about overblown assertions of smuggled weapons dangerously passing through the Suez when both Israel and the US do it all the time, with nukes. Also it's a hallmark of propaganda to assert you can get into the minds of your adversaries and know what they're thinking and why they do things. That's a Debka staple.
If Israeli/US intelligence had suspicions of such a massive shipment of weapons it's highly doubtful they would have taken a chance of offloading in Lebanon, but what do I know? Since the ship was seized at sea Israel can say whatever it wants, especially timed to blunt Goldstone.
Good stuff Frank.
