You need to re-read Rev. 13. It says that the Mark of the Beast will be legal tender for all 7 billion people on earth. It says that the Mark will incorporate the number 666. It says that it will be applied on the right hand or the forehead--visible and easily accessed locations where a chip wouldn't be very comfortable. An ever so powerful surveillance technology for North Americans (5% of the world's population) isn't necessarily suited to be used as money in, say, the Sahara where electricity is still a century away. The Mark of the Beast will use a technology that offers manual backup for the times when the reader doesn't work, or the merchant can't afford a reader, or when individuals trade with each other directly and neither owns a reader.

Read my free e-book Walkabout: The History of a Brief Century for a banker's view of how the Mark could actually be made to work!
