FUBAR In Poppystan

It's no wonder there's a morale crisis. Imagine soldiers all of a sudden realizing they're the bad guys, their missions are bullshit and then stupid crap like this happens. And being the military I assume it happens all the time.

25 troops injured in search for 2 U.S. soldiers

"KABUL, Afghanistan Two American soldiers disappeared in western Afghanistan after a routine resupply mission, and more than 25 NATO and Afghan security forces members were wounded during the search mission for them, the alliance said Friday.
Officials indicated it was unlikely the two missing had been taken captive. A Taliban spokesman, Qare Yousuf, told Reuters news agency by telephone that the soldiers had drowned and the Islamist militants had recovered their bodies."

"Western regional police chief Gen. Ikram Uddin Yawar said two American soldiers were swept away by a river while trying to save two boxes that had fallen into the water while being airdropped during a resupply mission in the Bala Murghab district of Badghis province.
Mr. Jabar said a helicopter had airdropped food parcels at a coalition base, but that strong winds had blown one box into the river and that two soldiers had been swept away by strong currents while trying to recover the parcel."

Missing US Soldiers Spark Friendly Fire Casualties in Afghanistan

"Over 25 NATO and Afghan soldiers were wounded today and others were reportedly killed in a “search and rescue” operation being conducted in Western Afghanistan looking for two missing US soldiers.
Though NATO declined to give much in the way of details regarding the operation, the Badghis Province police chief said that NATO had inadvertently caused many of the casualties themselves in the air strikes, and that multiple Americans were slain in a “friendly fire” air strike incident.
The Taliban
reported that they had already recovered the bodies of the two soldiers, who they said had drown. NATO has promised to continue their “exhaustive search and rescue operations.”
