One more thing. Hillary is a mother. She has to be forgiven for being utterly heartsick about the suffering of the kids in Gaza, 400 of whom were killed in the war."

It's amazing how any divergence from the spin Israel puts on things results in almost hysterical responses. The reactions from the ordinary people wcbtv interviewed are bad enough. But for the wcbtv reporter to claim Clinton is "hammering Israel" over Gaza is pure nonsense. If anything, she's walking on tippy-toes around a humanitarian disaster and blatant war crimes.
The only way Clinton can actually hammer Israel in a way that gets their attention is to threaten to withhold some of the $3 billion a year in aid we give them - and mean it.
There's always been something that Israel has, something that scares the shit out of our cowardly pols and makes them lick their boots. What is it abi, threats? blackmail? the Samson option? that certain uncomfortable video?
I think it's partly based on the natural sympathy people have for what Jews went through in the 30s and 40s in Germany, but mostly it's due to a very powerful lobby. Palestinians have also suffered terrible injustices in the last 60 years, but they have no lobby.
