China Lives Down To The Administration's Admiring Expectations
China off State Dept.'s worst rights-violators list Wednesday, March 12, 2008
"The State Department no longer considers China one of the world's worst violators of human rights, according to its annual human rights report, released Tuesday, a decision that immediately earned the ire of human rights groups."
China gives Tibetan protestors ultimatum to surrender Saturday, March 15, 2008
"China has given Tibetan independence protestors an ultimatum to surrender after some of the worst unrest in the past two decades. According to official Chinese figures, 10 people have been killed in violence between demonstrators and security forces in the Tibetan capital of Lhasa. But the "government-in-exile" claims the figure is closer to 100, and has called on the United Nations to launch an inquiry. The riots are the result of a volatile combination of discontent with Chinese rule and pre-Olympics protests."
Strange how the fascists lifted a decades old designation just days before China shows the world yet again what an uncomprimisingly vicious regime it is. But then these actions - sending in the military and shooting protesters, is exactly what the police state here would do. The decision to remove the country from the list was probably just to suck up to the Chinese regime during our economic meltdown and in advance of Bubble Boy himself traveling there for the Olympics held in China this year. So don't expect our criminal cabal to be consistent in it's calls for independence of autonomous states, as in Kosovo, Serbia.
The protests aren't just in Llasa but all over the country, even reaching into China itself. Expect an orgy of death a la Tienanmen Square because the Chinese government, headed by Hu Jintao, simply cannot be seen as unstable in the run up to the games.
Who made the decision to crush the protests at Tienanmen Square in Beijing nineteen years ago? Hu Jintao.
