Top Brass Will Resign If Ordered To War
US generals see only disaster in Iran
"A group of senior US military commanders have reportedly decided to resign, should the White House order a military strike against Iran. The reports come as tension in the Persian Gulf region has raised fears that US President George W. Bush might order an attack on Iran before his term expires. "There are four or five generals and admirals we know would resign if Bush ordered an attack on Iran," a source with close ties with British intelligence services said.
"There is simply no stomach for it in the Pentagon, and a lot of people question whether such an attack would be effective or even possible.” A British defense source confirmed that there were deep misgivings inside the Pentagon about a military strike. "All the generals are perfectly clear that they don't have the military capacity to take Iran on in any meaningful fashion. Nobody wants to do it and it would be a matter of conscience for them.”
All well and good, however the warmongers have been busy purging the military of similar conscientious personnel for years, and I fear that there are enough toadies and stooges put in place for the fascists to fulfill their agenda.
This past summer the warmongers determined that their shrieking propaganda efforts were failing to convince americans about Iran's intention to nuke the world. They subsequently went to plan B which was to play the terrorism card, which was about the time we were being handed all the crap about Iranians killing GIs in Iraq. The New Yorker magazine carried an article detailing this:
"This summer, the White House, pushed by the office of Vice-President Dick Cheney, requested that the Joint Chiefs of Staff redraw long-standing plans for a possible attack on Iran, according to former officials and government consultants. The focus of the plans had been a broad bombing attack, with targets including Iran’s known and suspected nuclear facilities and other military and infrastructure sites. Now the emphasis is on “surgical” strikes on Revolutionary Guard Corps facilities in Tehran and elsewhere, which, the Administration claims, have been the source of attacks on Americans in Iraq. What had been presented primarily as a counter-proliferation mission has been reconceived as counterterrorism."
This was no doubt due to revulsion over their filthy "pre emptive" doctrine. Instead they'll embrace the time honored zionist victim ploy, where some phony, false flag, egregious "attack" will be the justification for righteous indignation and massive counter attack. On the plus side for the fascists, some sudden event blamed conveniently on Iran will cause the military sycophants to rally behind Fearless Leader and force any dissenting personnel to just shut the hell up.

I imagine dissention in the ranks is nearing epidemic proportions, which is exactly when our unhinged criminals would feel it necessary to pull another 9/11, which is exactly 100% of what they have left.
Agreed.
Prefer they just fade away at this point and we can get on with rebuilding this broken down ship in a matter to which we are accustomed.
