Tweety Gets Taken To The Woodshed

I can understand how people may object to Jon Stewart's shtick. There's a valid reason why some venues can be called Left Gatekeepers in that discussion and comment are constricted to acceptable parameters, that certain topics are OK as long as core underlying assumptions are never challenged. It was like that during the Vietnam war where questions such as "will increased troop numbers help us to win" were admissable but "why the fuck are we doing this" wasn't.

It's the same today with the rising tide of an authoritarian police state headed by an increasingly out of control criminal mafia. It's acceptable to make fun of a cartoon presidency in the media - see Letterman's "Great Moments in Presidential History" - just don't question the fraudulent war on terror. It's permissable to go only so far, just don't rock the boat. Sort of a safety valve.

Sure, Jon Stewart might not make fun of AIPAC, but where else will you hear some inside-the-beltway gasbag's idiot philosophy get called fascism?

I love Jon Stewart and that was one of my favorite interviews ever, anywhere. I'm not sure I realized just how big a gasbag Matthews was till that night.

That was a great interview. I always wonder why nobody questions Matthews. He has the nerve to call his show hardball? Sucking up to the power elite would be a better title.

It's incredible. Matthews was just dangling there, exposed as a shallow idiotic gasbag while Stewart tore him to shreds.

Did you see Matthews on Keith Olbermann Tuesday night? He kept trying to say things and KO kept shutting him down.
