Anglo American Partnership Is Disintegrating
For a long time, probably dating back to the second world war, there's been this 'special relationship' between Britain and the US. Special probably in no small way due to the empire baton being passed across the pond and Britain anxious to at least hang in the big leagues by being cozy with the new bully on the block. During the Reagan years an equally poisonous neocon movement secured itself in Britain with Thatcher, and relations between the two countries could be described as affable during Clinton and Bush the elder.
But we're witnesses to quite the rift that's developing now. Of course the public stance will be all smiles for the cameras whenever Brown and Sockpuppet meet, yet the Bushistas and their criminal actions are deeply hated by the Brits, especially the Iraq occupation and dismemberment. It seems that Brown's government has decided to pursue it's own course and disengage from Iraq regardless of what the americans do and that's pissing the fascists off. Our petulant would-be tyrant sniffed in the British Independent that american allies should 'stay the course' in Iraq while there's sniping between generals on both sides as the Brits are quickening their withdrawal from the southern part of the country. The British military has long been critical of american atrocities in Iraq.
Other voices have entered the fray as the war of words intensifies.
I think enough people in Britain with the ability to influence policy have seen the light with the fascists and the unstable bubble boy at the helm. They probably would have stuck by their bosom buddies except for one thing. I think they realized back when the Iranians held some sailors hostage, and the ziofascists wanted to use the situation to attack Iran, how much of a jones the cabal has for getting their war on. The friction that's developing between Britain and the US probably stems from this - the Brits want to get their servicepeople out of harm's way immediately before the cruise missiles fly.
