Clueless State Senator Proposes Anti Constitutional Law
First Amendment to the Constitution - "..part of the Bill of Rights. The amendment prohibits the making of any law "respecting an establishment of religion", impeding the free exercise of religion, infringing on the freedom of speech, infringing on the freedom of the press, interfering with the right to peaceably assemble or prohibiting the petitioning for a governmental redress of grievances."
Bill Ketron proposes law to make following Shariah law a felony
"A proposed new state law would make following the Islamic legal code known as Shariah law a felony, punishable by 15 years in jail.
State Senator Bill Ketron, R-Murfreesboro, introduced the bill, known as Senate Bill 1028, last week. A House version of the bill, House Bill 1353, was introduced by House Rep. Judd Matheny, R-Tullahoma.
The bill claims that Shariah law is a danger to homeland security.
“The threat from Shariah-based jihad and terrorism presents a real and present danger to the lawful governance of this state and to the peaceful enjoyment of citizenship by the residents of this state,” the bill reads.
The bill exempts any peaceful practice of Islam.
But it also claims that any adherence to Shariah law – which includes religious practices like feet-washing and prayers – is treasonous."
One could suppose this stupid local nutcase is just playing to his cracker constituents. Grandstanding islamophobia will get you respect from the Baptist, Faux watching mouthbreathers every time, and he could be reaching for his fifteen minutes even if he's so stupid he'll push a law directly violating the constitution. Loud, public denunciations of the Muslim faith can seem to stem from being a jeebus freak or from pumping the phony terrorist threat or some such nonsense.
But there's something even dirtier behind this anti Muslim viciousness that needs to be remembered.
Shariah law in Islamic code forbids the practice of usery, or interest in banking. Muslim banking was growing exponentially in the middle east and was set to explode across North Africa. Established banking interests will go to great lengths to stop this threat to their power and wealth, this no-interest business model.
It may be one of the main reasons that region of the world is on fire.
The moneyed interests are always busy buying mouthpieces.
This Ketron jackass has already proven he likes to pocket a few extra shekels.
