The Pulled "Don't Vote" Ad

Nevada Senate Race Turns Uglier With Hispanic Ad

"A Republican campaign urging Latinos not to vote has been yanked from the airwaves amid an outcry from Democrats that it was a dirty trick against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in his hotly contested race against Republican Sharron Angle."

Just when you thought the dripping repug slime had hit bottom, there they are down in the muck, busily shoveling.
Myself, I haven't voted since 1980. The reason I don't is twofold - it's not the politicians in office that's the problem but the system itself. It's broken beyond repair and will never be fixed until it crashes and burns from it's own ponderous and filthy weight. The system has been hijacked by two equally criminal mobs who vie for the privilege of serving corporations and the super rich, while of course being handsomely rewarded for their servitude. Now that could be repairable if voting actually mattered, which it doesn't. The machines you cast a ballot on have been corrupted for years and the fix will be in long before every election day. It's all set up as a well oiled charade to fool the dunces every several years while never rocking our overlords' sweet, sweet ride.

That being said, I'm not fooled by the partisan bullshit in the ad above begging Latinos to be no shows on election day. This cheap shot is just more updated Willie Horton racism, a tactic that Sharron Angle feasts on and is built into rethug and republican-in-drag tea bag world views but is a cancer that eats away at us all. If it urged everybody to boycott everything about these sham elections I'd resonate with that message to forget voting, but it singled out Hispanics to shun the democrats as if that would fix the problems. Fat chance.
