October 16 1991

Luby's massacre - "The Luby's massacre was a mass murder that took place on October 16, 1991, in Killeen, Texas, United States when George Jo Hennard drove his pickup truck into a Luby's Cafeteria and shot 23 people to death while wounding another 20, subsequently committing suicide by shooting himself. It was the deadliest shooting rampage in American history until the 2007 Virginia Tech massacre."

As with so many of these shootings, Hennard appeared calm, methodical and robotic, totally anti human.

Did we ever find out anything about his background?

We had a shooter in Montreal who killed about 13 women in an Engineering school. His father had a military past. I am thinking that there is a common denominator in a lot of these "mysterious" deaths...a link with the military.

I believe you're absolutely correct gc. It's a hard subject to research because I think there's a concerted effort to whitewash all those shooters' backgrounds. We're only supposed to take in their actions and react in the proscribed emotional way, but during the multiple shootings of the 90s in the states it was a consistant pattern of military intelligence, drugs and psychiatric "care" in their pasts.
