"Those who have studied history know that nothing invigorates and empowers an authoritarian regime more than a spectacular act of violence, some sudden and senseless loss of life that allows the autocrat to stand on the smoking rubble and identify himself as the hero.
It is at moments like this that the public—still in shock from the horror of the tragedy that has just unfolded before them—can be led into the most ruthless despotism: despotism that now bears the mantle of “security.”
Acts of terror and violence never benefit the average man or woman. They only ever benefit those in positions of power.
This is why Nero fiddled while Rome burned: it gave him a chance to throw the Christians to the lions and rebuild the capital of the Roman Empire in his own image.
This is why Hearst and the warmongers of the emerging American Empire were delighted by the destruction of the U.S.S. Maine in Havana Harbor: it gave them the excuse they needed in order to rouse the public into supporting the Spanish-American War.
This is why Israel attacked the U.S.S. Liberty in 1967 during the Six Day War, strafing and torpedoing it relentlessly for hours in a vain attempt to send it to the bottom: the Israelis believed that the loss of the Liberty could be blamed on Egypt and draw the Americans into war.
This is why there are hundreds of documented examples of governments staging attacks in order to blame them on their political enemies. In every civilization, in every culture, in every historical period, authoritarians have known that spectacular acts of violence help to further consolidate their own power and control. And sadly, throughout history there have been all too many willing to allow attacks to occur, to pretend that attacks have occurred or even to attack their own population in order to further their political agenda.
To think that such staged provocations and false flag attacks no longer occur would be as unrealistic as believing that human nature itself has changed, that powerful people no longer seek to increase their power, that influence is never used for deceit or manipulation, that lies are no longer told to satisfy greed or slake the thirst for control. It is to believe that our society is immuned from those things that we have seen in every other society in every other era. In short, it is a dangerous delusion.
The people are once again learning the power of this delusion. They are learning the extent to which they have been lied to. They are once again studying their history."
"And this time, if there is another staged event to blame on the government’s enemy of the day, the people will know who to blame."
Corbett sums it up nicely but his optimism that people have woken up sufficiently is entirely misplaced. Even if the public at large had, there's nothing to prevent the insane ones from pulling their phony stunts anyway.
It's a trap that we'll find ourselves in a lot, because after all, we need to see some sort of light at the end of the tunnel, we want to have some little hope that this fascist bus plunge can be reversed at some point. We look for signs of hope and we take heart in seeing other websites and hearing other people that we resonate with and think just maybe the tide turned.
Forget about it. Our would be masters are playing chess while we think making a double jump in checkers was a real triumph. They're always thinking more moves ahead than we can possibly imagine and they've got everything in their favor. We can shout all we want in our big echo chamber and take heart from the echos but at the end of the day there still ain't very many of us, folks. No, people might be pissed and hurting and asking questions they might never have asked before but the vast majority in this wasteland of a failed society are Foxified, braindead simpletons you really wouldn't want to sit next to on a bus trip.
No, when the fuckers pull the next false flag, and bet the farm that they will, the filthy MSM will march lockstep to the fascists' tune, about every single one of those corrupted swine in Washington will sqeal in unison and that vast mouthbreathing majority will rise up and...do nothing but cheer the fascists on.
own everything and everybody. They're so full of themselves and their power that they currently don't even bother to cover their tracks; crimes are right out in the open and they don't give a shit who knows about them. They will never stop this murderous rampage to control the entire three dimensional reality we live in, and at this point, resistance really is futile.
However they'll never own our souls unless we allow them. Get small, get local and be as anonymous as you can. Perform random acts of defiance. Talk to people and get organized if you're into that. Get into survival mode for the long haul, because I think the wheels are going to come off of that death cult juggernaut and it won't be long before it happens.
When the Iceland volcano blew it didn't take long before an entire airline industry shut down. The atmospheric particulates even halted some US military operations half a world away in the Afghanistan colony. You see the fascist agenda for total world domination relies completely and precariously on it's toys. It's the machinery that makes it all happen and without all the gadgets and widgets it's dead in the water, at that point with the putrid ideology laying bare and helpless and vulnerable.
You know, jeebus freaks might call it divine intervention, UFO cultists can point to the Space Brothers, but I think the beast will be taken down soon by an old friend. One nice, big X class flare on the sun, or many of them, will permanently fry the everloving crap out of the fascist machinery with a big satisfying zap and there's not a damned thing they can do about it. When that occurs our quiet persistance will have paid off and the insane scumbags, if they're not swinging from lampposts, will be utterly powerless.
Of course most of what we call civilization will have to be built from the ground up again, but boy won't that be exhilerating.
