"According to CNN.com, the suspect, Johnny Wicks, 66, walked into the building lobby, pulled a shotgun from under his coat and began shooting. He killed a court security officer and wounded a U.S. Marshal before running out of the building.
The suspect was chased by marshals and other court security personnel who exchanged shots with him on the street. According to the New York Times, a shot to the head killed the suspect, who died on the sidewalk across the street from the courthouse.
Observers captured camera phone video that was uploaded to YouTube.com. The sound of the more than 45 shots echoing between the buildings in a little over a minute, is a poignant demonstration of the magnitude of this act."
