Why I'm Ambivalent About Climategate
It's making a big internet splash, that's for sure. Some of the sites that I go to all the time are all over it. It seems to be big news in some places and people have resigned their positions, there's even been talk of stripping the Nobel prize from Al Gore. No doubt the story about data deceit has legs and scientists stood to gain from fudging numbers, with possibly a tie in with the Big Push for world government.
But. When it comes to the usually filthy MSM I have special disregard for Faux. (except, I must add, for just one shining moment in December 2001 when Carl Cameron's expose of the Israeli sy ring operating in the US was aired on that network) Which is why I have reservations about the current weather wars when I see this:

Jon Stewart pointed out how quick the usual slugs pounced on the leaked emails:
Now no doubt falsifying or destroying data is bullshit science and the research centers and institutions should be ashamed, heads should roll, all pronouncements have to be scrutinized carefully from now on and any links to money making schemes or stifling laws need to be exposed. It truly is important to understand any hidden agendas and global warming sceptics have every right to crow about the leaks.
But is there any agenda behind the global warming sceptics?
Group promoting climate skepticism has extensive ties to Exxon-Mobil
"A group promoting skepticism over widely-accredited climate change science has a web of connections to influential oil giant Exxon-Mobil, Raw Story has found.
The organization is called the Nongovernmental International Panel on Climate Change (NIPCC), apparently named after the UN coalition International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). An investigation into the group reveals its numerous links to Exxon-Mobil, a vehement opponent of climate legislation and notorious among scientists for funding global warming skeptics.
"Exxon-Mobil essentially funds people to lie," Joseph Romm, lauded climate expert and author of the blog Climate Progress, told Raw Story. "It's important for people to understand that they pay off the overwhelming majority of groups in the area of junk science."
Let's just call it Global Climate Chaos and be done with it.

You have to think it through some more, get more sophisticated on these topics because the elite are postively Byzantine in the complexity of their myths, scams and hoaxes.
Who is ultimately behind the Global Warming Hoax? Club of Rome, King Juan Carlos, Maurice Strong for example.
Who are the major players in Big Oil? Bilderberg Group, Dutch Royal Family, Rockefellers for example.
Who are the members of these two groups? Easy to look up, but take note of the fact that these are bacially all the same people: royalty, bankers, Big Oil CEOs, media moghuls, the richest of the rich, etc.
Global Warming and the Price of a Gallon of Gas
You may want to give credit where credit is due to Al Gore and his global warming campaign the next time you fill your car with gasoline, because there is a direct connection between Global Warming and four dollar a gallon gas. It is shocking, but true, to learn that the entire Global Warming frenzy is based on the environmentalist’s attack on fossil fuels, particularly gasoline. All this big time science, international meetings, thick research papers, dire threats for the future; all of it, comes down to their claim that the carbon dioxide in the exhaust from your car and in the smoke stacks from our power plants is destroying the climate of planet Earth. What an amazing fraud; what a scam.

We should always seek alternative energy sources besides oil, but that as long as we do use oil, the markets should be open and honest instead of driven by secret agendas of these elite groups. Then prices would come down, there could even be free market competition rather than big cartels controlling commodities.
As far as some, but not all by a longshot, climate scientists being partially funded by oil companies, I look at it this way.
All sides are being funded by the same elites, even the controlled opposition against Anthropogenic Global Warming. Note that Lord Monckton is an elite aristocrat. His bottom line is that the ClimateGate scam is the work of "liberals and communists", yet surprisingly, he fails to mention that it was the big capitalists and royalty who are behind Global Warming Hoax to begin with. How does this benefit the elite? To control the opposiiton, it is necessary to lead it. It is obvious to anyone with a drop of common sense that AGW is a hoax, the only questions being by whom and for what motive? By never pointing out who is really behind it, Monckton can both control and neutralize the skeptics.
PJ nails it. It is the power elite on both sides of this issue, pairing both sides of the climate issue against one another. It's classic human dynamics. I disagree with you AUTOMATICALLY simply because you are conversative/liberal or whatever label fits.
We're pollutin' the hell out of this planet for certain and we need clean energy sources (Tesla, Tesla, Tesla, I chant), but the notion that it is our car driving habit that is the primary (some say sole) cause of this changing climate is absolutely absurd. That's a smoke-and-mirrors tactic set to pin the people against one another. I see it frequently in this town with the cyclists and the car driving folks. I wish those on either side of the coin would wake up and see how they're being played by the very people who are spinning this story all over the place. I'm pretty sure at these annual Bilderberger summits, they devise plans just to keep the debate about man-made climate change going amongst the populace.

It discusses the fact that all the rumble was only about a few things... They probably had a hard time finding many proove of actual manipulation.
