Soul Sacrifice

I've heard and read a lot of views about which groups resonated best with the crowd's energy at Woodstock. Most of the opinions included this performance by Santana, one of the fledgeling bands that used their presence there as a career springboard.
An urban legend sprang up about the drummer after that gig. It went that the usual drummer wasn't available and this teenage kid stepped in and gave the performance of his life. Not so, apparently, he was the regular Santana drummer and delivered one of the best live rock drum solos of all time.

And Sly energized a nightime crowd
