The Pentagon Wants Authority to Post Almost 400,000 Military Personnel in U.S.
"The Pentagon has approached Congress to grant the Secretary of Defense the authority to post almost 400,000 military personnel throughout the United States in times of emergency or a major disaster.
This request has already occasioned a dispute with the nation’s governors. And it raises the prospect of U.S. military personnel patrolling the streets of the United States, in conflict with the Posse Comitatus Act of 1878.
In June, the U.S. Northern Command distributed a “Congressional Fact Sheet” entitled “Legislative Proposal for Activation of Federal Reserve Forces for Disasters.” That proposal would amend current law, thereby “authorizing the Secretary of Defense to order any unit or member of the Army Reserve, Air Force Reserve, Navy Reserve, and the Marine Corps Reserve, to active duty for a major disaster or emergency.”
Taken together, these reserve units would amount to “more than 379,000 military personnel in thousands of communities across the United States,” explained
Paul Stockton, Assistant Secretary of Defense for Homeland Defense and America’s Security Affairs, in a letter to the National Governors Association, dated July 20.
The governors were not happy about this proposal, since they want to maintain control of their own National Guard forces, as well as military personnel acting in a domestic capacity in their states."
I for one am getting tired of pissed off people calling what's happening in this country socialism. It isn't. As a matter of fact when anyone opens his or her piehole and decries this drive into totalitarian territory socialism, he or she immediately shows his or her complete ignorance and dependency on propaganda sources like Faux and brownshirt bloviators on AM radio.
It's been a carefully conceived effort to eliminate reference to corporate influence in this contrived hell hole we're finding ourselves confronted with. This is corporate fascism, not socialism. This country was conceived in socialism. Our pioneer history was socialism. Barn raisings were socialism. Charities are socialism. Bottom up, communitarian socialism is the very essence of everything that made this country any kind of a decent place to live in. It's now a propaganda buzzword to demonize even the slightest attempt to reverse this unholy alliance of government, corporate interests and the military.

Well, you could call it NATIONAL socialism. Except that our elites are no nationalists - they're total globalists. Perhaps our rulers are just contributing a new ism to the history of totalitarian ideologies. Well, they're always boasting that America is the land of innovation.
Yeah MTH, socialism for the rich and social Darwinism for the rest of us.
It swung so far to unrestrained predatory capitalism in the last decades that any mention of sharing is tantamount to cursing. We're taught to believe that "of the people, by the people and for the people" might as well have been written by Lenin.
And you bet our overlords are no nationalists. Absolutely nothing they do is in a national interest except to keep their rotten, manipulated system extant for personal gain.
He's right, it is fascism. It's fascist-capitalism. I don't see it as socialism, not even National socialism, not by a long-shot.
If it were socialism, one of the first things that would be done would be a redistribution of wealth to equalize it and limit placed upon personal wealth (like 1million $). So far as I have seen, there has been no effort to redistribute wealth equally or place a limit on personal wealth.
