Here Comes The Tiananmen Square Censorship

Chinese Authorities Block Online Articles About June 4th Massacre

"Just before the 20th anniversary of former Chinese Communist Party (CCP) leader Hu Yaobang’s death, Chinese authorities blocked a large number of Internet posts about Hu, as well as information on the June 4th Massacre on websites throughout the country. Political analysts believe authorities were concerned that the public would link Hu's death and the June 4th event together, thus affecting the CCP’s rule in China.

Hu was often viewed as an open-minded reformist leader and an important figure in the contemporary transition process in China's history. His death on April 15, 1989 sparked demonstrations that culminated in the mass protests at Tiananmen Square and the CCP’s subsequent violent crackdown on the student-led democracy movement, known as the June 4th Massacre."
