This is what I read at theusofe -- She says she flew to TX and had the baby there -- AFTER HER WATER BROKE!
Now that I check news sources it looks like she flew back from TX and had the baby in Alaska or claims to have.

The whole thing is so astounding and so typically republican.
But Lesley, there's a deeper question that even I'm cautious about raising in a blog post. We have to ask ourselves why, if this babygate thing is true, she would risk her career to do this? If she was never pregnant the lie, if exposed, would be the end of it all. What was so important that her daughter's pregnancy had to be covered up?
Some would say that her bible thumpingness was involved. But plenty of religious types get through unwanted pregnancies with the grace of god etc and move on.
All I'll ask is if there was ever any history of parental sexual abuse in this family. THAT would be a shame that would necessitate such risky deceit by moral scolds.

Nolo, this is the FIRST thought that came into my mind when I read all of this baby gate stuff.
That may explain why a 16 year old would give birth to a down syndrome baby too, since that is rare.
There is another question, assuming the baby is Sarah Palin's -- she says that she knew the odds of having a baby with down before getting pregnant. She already had 4 children, isn't it selfish and stupid to take that risk when there are millions of babies around the world that need a good home? Why does anyone need 5 children of their own?
Actually, the most disturbing thing is - based on my perusal of some "conservative blogs" - how many guys who previously had sworn off voting for McCain will now do so because they are eager to have a vice president who they would actually like to have sex with for a change. (And I think the cute clip of her doing a sports news report cinched it for them.)

I'm not getting this. The governor had a baby? She's 44 and at risk for a downer. How does this make a conspiracy?
Somehow a year ago Palin determined that her 16 year old daughter's unplanned pregnancy was something to keep hidden. So she yanked the kid from school and sequestered her. Then all of a sudden in the spring she announced to the world that she was 7 months pregnant herself, much to the shock of everyone around her who looked at her in disbelief. Her "delivery" came with a strange and medically unsound and mysterious plane flight supposedly to a hospital that has no record of the birth. Where flight attendents said she wasn't preggers.
It's one of those warped repug psycho dramas we've come to know and loathe, because even though her expecting daughter had to be covered up at all costs, where she pretended to have the baby herself, apparently it was fine and proper to then announce to the world that her daughter was pregnant a few days ago. In order to lie yet again, claiming that the kid couldn't possibly have been knocked up before. Lies upon lies upon lies, it's the repug way.
