What A Huge Surprise Rescue

Or maybe not. Did somebody just say Jessica Lynch?

Ingrid Betancourt’s homecoming soured by claims of secret payoff

"As the Colombian politician arrived in her “second home country”, questions arose over the bloodless military operation that secured her freedom from the jungle, along with 14 other hostages.
According to reports that were dismissed by Colombia as lies, the apparently brilliant operation was partly stage-managed and included a US-financed ransom."

It reeks with "american propaganda" psyop. Columbia is the South American Israel for the Bushistas. The whole thing has a name - "Operation Checkmate", exactly like countless other Operation Whatevers the US loves to name. Bumbling Columbian officials don't quite know the rules of boffo public relation extravaganzas like this You wait until your're accused of paying off the opposition before you vehemently deny paying off the opposition.
Tell me this press conference wasn't coached by Washington PR consultants:

Photobucket

And Whoa, guess who happened to be in Columbia at the same moment the world's eyes were directed there by the MSM?

"Before host Robin Roberts could even pose a question, McCain was explaining why he was there and what he was dong and that he would be home soon. (...)
What is McCain trying to tell voters by this visit?"

Maybe that that an effort to involve him with a hostage release was cancelled at the last minute because the cat was out of the bag and could have wound up making him look like a lying fool?

Great jeebus but there are a lot of Operation Checkmates, 99!
Couldn't they have come up with a unique name that would have resonated with what they were doing in Columbia, like Operation Humiliate Hugo, or Operation Free The Hostages?

No, no! That would make things too CLEAR. Can't have that....

Sheesh.

I've just fallen to linking pertinent bits as I find them and it's looking like we have a 50/50 chance of blowing this one open. Better odds than usual, and it looks to me as though everyone on the planet is seeking to bust these fuckers on their bullshit. NOBODY wants more fascists in power... except a few politicians and a few CEOs....

Looks to me like there is a strong element within their employ who are leaking their shit to bring them down. Sez me, anyway.
