Rice In Turkey To Blather About PKK

Rice promises Turkey more action blah blah

"ANKARA (Reuters) - The United States promised to redouble efforts on Friday against Kurdish guerrillas in an attempt to stave off Turkish military intervention in northern Iraq that could destabilize the region.
U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, visiting Ankara amid growing anti-U.S. sentiment among Turks, called the outlawed Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) a "common enemy." But she did not spell out what steps Washington was contemplating.
"We all need to redouble our efforts and the United States is committed to redoubling our efforts," Rice told a news conference with Turkish Foreign Minister Ali Babacan
."

What efforts?
The US has done zero to ease the tension in northern Iraq. To the contrary, it has exacerbated the situation enormously ever since the invasion and occupation of the country in 2003. And Turkey isn't going to fall for empty words from a reviled hypocrite.

Aside from paving the way for a more independent Kurdish state which is Turkey's and Iran's worst nightmare, active support and aid to the Kurdish guerrillas from the US/Israel axis hasn't gone unnoticed. Pleas for help in stemming Kurdish attacks have fallen on deaf american ears. A lot of those missing US weapons? Wound up in PKK hands, a lot of them sans serial numbers. Gee, I wonder why?

The situation has become extremely critical in northern Iraq. All sides are backed into corners. Erdogan in Turkey is forced to play the strongman to placate the army. The Bushistas caved in to zionist interests and have sided with the oil rich Kurds. The PKK, hidden away in the Qandil mountains, are hoping for a Turkish invasion to inflame the larger Kurd population to side with the rebels. The Turks see this as a last chance to put a halt to a Kurdish independence push. And winter is fast approaching which will make all movements and logistics orders of magnitude more difficult. The US will be in an absolutely untenable and weak position where anything it does will suck.

Rice, with her bloviating diplomat-speak will get nowhere. No one believes her lies and posturing. The last chance to avert a much wider war comes when Erdogan shuttles to the white house on Monday. If he goes home empty handed, which is likely considering how critical the situation has become, all bets are off.

added - Screw it, let me just say what's been on my mind about the State Department. The fascists knew that their war on the world's people to steal the earth's resources was going to be exposed and hated, and they thought "how 'bout deflecting criticism from us rich white boys for our New American Ugly by fronting it with blacks, as in Powell and Rice"?
