Eggs' Rights Group Pushes For Menstrual Criminalization Ballot Measure

Proposed Colorado Measure on Rights for Human Eggs

"A proposed amendment to the Colorado Constitution that would give legal rights to fertilized human eggs may be headed for the ballot next year, raising the prospect of a heated local debate over abortion at the same time that Democrats are gathering here for their national convention.
The ballot measure, which passed a legal hurdle this week when the Colorado Supreme Court upheld an administrative panel’s ruling about its wording, would give Colorado perhaps the most sweeping language in the nation about the rights of the unborn, legal experts said.
The proposal must go through several other steps between now and Election Day 2008, including gathering of enough signatures to qualify for the ballot.
But both sides agreed that the measure, if it passed, would have immense ripple effects. The measure, just one paragraph long, would ask voters whether inalienable rights, due process rights and equality of justice rights as defined in the state Constitution should be extended to “any human being from the moment of fertilization
.”

If anyone think that contraception and menstruation, even leaving abortion out of the equation, should be the private business of a woman, she/he should think again if this sort of calculated christian catastrophe is made into law.

Pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg only seeking it's constitutional rights attaches his/her little self to the uterine wall. Often the confused little proto person misses the chance to do so and is flushed out of the female body during regular menstruation, with no resulting pregnancy. If that happens menstruation therefore will be considered an act of murder if this xtian idiocy succeeds. Compounding the crime by using intrauterine devices or oral contraception would most certainly become illegal as these potential murder weapons prevent the uterine seeking little zygote from finding safe haven to maximize god's will.

Can't rational people see this horrifying garbage for what it really is? Is there any question that this is a full frontal assault on a woman's right to control her own body? These wily wild eyed jeebus freaks made great effort to keep the word "abortion" out of this proposed legislation on purpose to get around the usual debate that happens when idiocy like this is deliberated.

Of course this is happening in a state that has become a Mecca to evangelical psychos, a hotbed of jeebus love that spawned the likes of rowdy Reverend Ted Haggard, so it's not inconceivable that christopaths there can finalize their wet dreams of turning women into god's little baby factories.

Good Gawd! Glad I'm not a woman, but considering what they have to go through just to introduce a new life into this clusterfuck, THAT'S bullshit. I, for one have seen it and can't start to comprehend attempting to go through THAT.
As if their periods every fucking month aren't enough to deal with.
As a man, I don't think these idiots realize what bullshit a woman has to deal with in regards to their bodies.
Let the women have control over their own bodies, for chrissake!

Yeah, UL, this lunatic assault is so far beyond the pale it's becoming a bad acid trip.
Not only will abortion become unavailable, but ALL forms of birth control and eventually any arousal activities too, because the possibility that your conduct will result in danger to the lttle diploid cell will be deemed conspiracy, and I ain't joking about this.

i've often said if men had the ability to menstruate and get pregnant, the menstrual cycle would warrant 2 guaranteed paid days off and abortion would be legal in all corners of the land.
