Remember that Iraqi cakewalk through smiles and petal strewn streets? The delusions of power must result in progressive wasting disease because they're at it again. Thinking that war on Iran will somehow distract us from, ameliorate and then somehow solve their public relations woes about Iraq, of course the fascists are gearing up to a victory dance. Like being warmly cheered on by joyous Iraqis, The Iranians will take having the shit bombed out them gently and in stride:
"Here is the victory scenario: Bush and Cheney will claim that their air attack on Iran succeeded in destroying Iran’s (non-existent) nuclear weapons program. The victory claimed by the Bush Regime and the propagandist US media will “make America safe from nuclear attack.” This will restore Bush’s popularity and move the US back to a 50-50 political split in time for Karl Rove to steal the 2008 election with the fraudulent electronic voting machines built and programmed by Republican operatives.
The former national security official believes that Bush will be able to claim victory over Iran, because Iran will avoid responding militarily. Iran will not use its Russian missiles to sink our aircraft carriers, to shut down oil facilities throughout the Middle East, or to destroy US headquarters in the “green zone” in Baghdad. Instead, Iran will adopt the posture of another Muslim victim of US/Israeli aggression and let the anger seep throughout the Muslim world until no pro-US government is safe in the Middle East."
Wheee! A win/win/win situation. Raining death on the Persians will convince the rubes that Deciderer and friends can tuck them in at night, will satisfy Israel and will change the political landscape enough so Rove can safely pull off another stolen election. Seeing as the manipulators with their corrupt media are straining to convince us that it's Iran's fault for all our woes in Iraq, bombing Tehran will be spun as reasonable and logical. Not only that, recipients of all the ordnance will just shrug it off and reach for some more joojeh kabab.

Not that Bush isn't dumb enough to try this, but our bunker buster bombs aren't capable of hitting the Iranians nuke facilities down deep in the earth, and it would be sheer madness to start a war with Iran while the Shia militia in Iraq, specifically the Mahdi Army, is at our backs. Any such war would invite the Iraqis to crush our military and they have the men to do it.
I also think Iran wouldn't take such an attack laying down; with most of the world in sympathy to their cause -- since they'd be responding defensively to an attack -- I think they'd invade eastern Iraq and launch Exocets against our carrier battle groups. It would be a bloodbath, anyway you slice it.
Of course, none of this would prevent Bush from doing it -- but it would be the end of what's remaining of his presidency.
How did we ever get into this nightmare, speculating when an unhinged water carrier for Mephistoles is going to rain nuclear weapons on innocent people?
