Full Court Press On Venezuela

You know something is afoot in the back rooms at the CIA. Aside from the leaked memo which exposed the meddling in Venezuelan affairs which is so typical of the spook agency's activities the propaganda spewing MSM is going balls to the wall to demonize Hugo Chavez and the Bolivarian movement.

Sunday Venezuelans will vote on a sweeping set of referendums but the only ones you'll hear about concern the ability for Chavez to run for re-election again:

"The tensions led the United States to break its silence. “We are concerned that people would not be able to have the free and fair elections that they deserve,” said Dana Perino, the White House spokeswoman."

It would be laughable how the lies come so fast and furious if it wasn't so desperately serious. US silence? Fascist disinfo mouthpiece Perino lecturing about free and fair elections? fucking gag me.

The Venezuelans intercepted and released a memo from the US embassy that was sent to the director of the CIA which detailed an "Operation Pincer" that suggested a lot more than finger wagging at Chavez. It seems the fascists are seeing this weekend's referendum as a window of opportunity to send the country into a chaotic death spiral that they can capitalize on. Order out of chaos and all that. The memo includes an implied a propaganda blitz, which seems to be true becuase you won't find anything about the CIA's planned coup in the corporate media:

"The CIA communication has been reported in articles filed by the Associated Press, but the Times and other major US news organizations have not mentioned it.
Instead, the Times today ran a column by Roger Cohen, which compares Chavez to the fascists of 1930s Europe, and which calls for defeat of the referendum. (Are Cohen and the Times part of the CIA's propaganda campaign?)
The Cohen column is so rabid that it would be almost comical, were it not for the fact that there is a real threat of a bloody CIA-inspired coup in the democratic nation of Venezuela."

Instead what you will find are misleading stories and outright lies about the referendum. In a prime example of sleight of hand reporting the headline here says "Poll suggests Venezuela's Chavez in 7-point referendum lead" but the story details a 16 point lead. Some websites are mysteriously down (late Friday evening). Just like everything else in this bizarre Bushista universe, an op-ed in Sunday's Washington Post by Von Rumsfeld turns reality upside down. The vote isn't merely about Chavez but is a pivotal turning point for the people of Venezuela. They will get to put their economic and social rights into law, something they could never have even dreamed about before Chavez. Of course this is horrifying to the fascists, who want to regain imperialistic control of the country and it's resources and once again exert dominion over the region. In short the US wants to stamp out democracy in Venezuela because it's a threat of a good example.

Regardless of how the vote turns out it appears that the US is determined to pull off it's fourth coup attempt in the country. Chavez's government knows this quite well and has threatened to cut off oil shipments to the US if it carries through with it's meddling, which makes this situation worth watching with close scrutiny.

Nobody In Africa Wants AFRICOM

Now why would people in Africa have anything against US foreign policy?

UMA rejection frustrates U.S. efforts to find home for AFRICOM

"TUNIS, Nov. 28 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. efforts to seek a home for the Africa Command (AFRICOM) have suffered one more blow as the Arab Maghreb Union (UMA) stated strong opposition Tuesday to any foreign military establishments on the soil of African countries.

The rejection was not the first to U.S. plans to find a host country for its military headquarters in Africa, approved by President George W. Bush in February.
Many African countries, starting from those in the north of the continent, have already made it clear that they would not host the AFRICOM or provide permanent bases for the U.S. forces.
Nations including Uganda, Algeria, Libya and the 14 members of the Southern African Development Community all refused to provide a home for the headquarters."

But all isn't lost yet as The US Military Begs Nigeria To Let Them In

It Gets Redundant

I'll just point you to Big Head DC. He'll explain.

"You're All A Bunch Of Morons"

A union president at a meeting offered proof that Adolph was on the take when he was Capo di Tutti Capi mayor of New York, and got shouted down by hizzoner, who proceeded to call the assemblage "morons". I like how his goons hovered nervously around because that union guy was BIG and they would have gotten their asses royally kicked but good by the bus drivers in the hall if they got physical.

This is the state of affairs now in this country. Citizens who demand answers from politicians get shouted down and/or tasered.

What Is That Thing?

With Google Earth, in the middle of Greenland, if it isn't some glitch in the technology, it appears to be some enormous object being uncovered from beneath the ice. The YouTube uploader below has a little trouble situating his commas to denote size but the object he points out is gargantuan.
I downloaded Google Earth to see it and yes, it's there.

Mob Muscle For Thugocracy

It's patently obvious how this corrupt cabal views the military. The people in the armed forces are merely expendable pawns, convenient and subservient props when Dim Son and his cronies need to speechify. They're cannon fodder as the criminals plan their agenda for total world domination and disposable garbage if they get hurt or sick during service. All that posturing aside that the Bushistas love to do, the military rank and file is treated exactly like the general american public - with contempt and disdain.

It seems people are waking up to this fraud, so there's a few changes to boost enlistment.

U.S. Army expands by lowering the bar on recruits

"Two weeks ago, the Pentagon announced the "good news" that the army had met its recruiting goal for October, the first month in a five-year plan to add 65,000 new soldiers to the ranks by 2012.
But Pentagon statistics show the army met that goal by accepting a higher percentage of enlistees with criminal records, drug or alcohol problems, or health conditions that would have ordinarily disqualified them from service

So the military is offering waivers, expunging criminal records and overlooking those slightly alarming sociopathic problems. That's just fine for the manipulative crew in the front of this bus plunge. Their worldview is strictly corporate short term expediency for their agenda - fill the ranks and get the boots on the ground. Too bad if the promises made to lure them into service aren't kept or if the wounded and disabled rot their lives away at places like Walter Reed.

It wasn't always like this. The first GI bill in 1944 actually ensured that service personnel were to be looked after and given tremendous opportunities after their service, unlike the bogus recruiting gimmick it is today. It's generally seen as the greatest piece of legislation in american history, and it made modern america. The government at the time seemed to care for the soldiers and the GI bill, if inadvertently, fueled the tremendous post war boom and built the middle class. An average GI in 1940 had only one year of high school but some eight million veterans used the bill to complete school and get degrees.

"When President Franklin Roosevelt signed the GI Bill into law in the waning days of World War II, he saw it as part of his New Deal program. The law, officially called the Servicemen's Readjustment Act, promised returning veterans that the government would pay the full cost of tuition and books at any public or private college or job-training program. It also provided unemployment insurance and loans to buy homes and start businesses.

By contrast, the current Montgomery GI Bill, passed in 1984, asks active duty members to accept a pay reduction of $100 per month through twelve months of military service. When they return to school, they receive $1,100 monthly for a maximum of three years of education benefits. It's an amount that doesn't come close to covering the cost of a modern college education, but it does help some veterans--if they can get through the red tape

The original GI bill paid back $5 to $12 in taxes for every $1 of federal money spent because educated vets earned more dough in the long run, but that's way too farsighted for the current thugs. A democratic bill to cut through the current bureaucratic mess to really help vets is opposed by this administration and won't go anywhere. They simply do not care who joins the military now because they aren't going to care for them after their service. The fascists plainly believe recruits are merely hired killers in service to the empire, just mercenaries that they don't have to pay so much. Contrast the crumbs sparingly handed out to vets to the hundreds of billions shovelled into corporate pockets after the american public is bludgeoned with that "support the troops" mantra, and you see the real priorities.

"In short, the government's approach is not to benefit veterans, but to make the benefits of service seem attractive to soldiers when they enlist, while extracting as little money as possible from the federal Treasury. Today's GI Bill is not so much a ticket to college but a recruiting tool that can be used to persuade skeptical young people to join the military."

CIA Venezuela Destabilization Memo Surfaces

"On November 26, 2007 the Venezuelan government broadcast and circulated a confidential memo from the US embassy to the CIA which is devastatingly revealing of US clandestine operations and which will influence the referendum this Sunday, December 2, 2007.

The memo sent by an embassy official, Michael Middleton Steere, was addressed to the Director of Central Intelligence, Michael Hayden. The memo was entitled 'Advancing to the Last Phase of Operation Pincer' and updates the activity by a CIA unit with the acronym 'HUMINT' (Human Intelligence) which is engaged in clandestine action to destabilize the forth-coming referendum and coordinate the civil military overthrow of the elected Chavez government."

The memo cheerfully advocates:

~Take the streets and protest with violent, disruptive actions across the nation
~Generate a climate of ungovernability
~Provoke a general uprising in a substantial part of the population
~Engage in a "plan to implode" the voting centers on election day by encouraging opposition voters to "VOTE and REMAIN" in their centers to agitate others
~Start to release data during the early hours of the afternoon on Sunday that favor the NO vote (in clear violation of election regulations)

~Sustain firmly the propaganda against Chavez
~Execute military actions to support the opposition mobilizations and propagandistic occupations
~Finalize the operative preparations on the US military bases in Curacao and Colombia to provide support to actions in Venezuela
~Control a part of the country during the next 72-120 hours
~Encourage a military rebellion inside the National Guard forces and other components

Don't it make you prouder 'n shit?

Who Really Blew A Hole In The Cole?

"On October 12, 2000, the USS Cole, docked in Aden harbor after the U.S. Navy deemed the port safe and certified it as a Defense Fuel Support Point, was reportedly blown up by two men who approached the warship in a small boat. The men were said to be Al Qaeda members from the bin Laden family homeland in Hadhramaut, a remote region in the east of Yemen straddling the Yemeni-Saudi border. Later, groups called the Army of Mohammed and the Army of Aden-Abyan claimed responsibility for the attack but these claims were reported through obscure sources in London.

O’Neill and his FBI soon arrived in Yemen to investigate the crime. From the outset, O’Neill received a cold shoulder from the U.S. ambassador to Yemen Barbara Bodine (the Deputy Chief of Mission in Kuwait before Desert Storm and the U.S. viceroy for central Iraq after the U.S. occupation). Bodine’s orders to limit the scope of O’Neill’s investigation came from Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, whose father Dr. Joseph Korbel, a neo-con anti-Soviet professor, was the mentor for one of his students at the University of Denver – Condoleeezza Rice. O’Neill was not permitted to interview Yemenis who witnessed the Cole explosion. O’Neill was not permitted to examine the hat worn by one of the bombers in the boat nor was he allowed to examine the harbor sludge for evidence.

O’Neill was soon pulled out of Yemen and Bodine refused him and his team permission to re-enter the country. O’Neill was getting too close to something.

The former CIA agent who worked with the FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force in New York and New Jersey stated that the USS Cole was hit by a specially-configured Popeye cruise missile launched from an Israeli Dolphin-class submarine. Israeli tests of the missile in May 2000 in the waters off Sri Lanka demonstrated it could hit a target 930 miles away. The ex-CIA agent also stated that Ambassador Bodine threw John O’Neill and his team out of Yemen lest their investigation began uncovering evidence that the Cole was not blown up by an explosive-laden boat but by an Israeli cruise missile."

Wayne Madsen Report

Emergency Responders As Snoops

US firefighters being trained to spot terrorists

"Unlike police, firemen and paramedics do not need warrants to get into homes and other buildings during technical inspections of emergency facilities, making them particularly useful for spotting signs of terrorist planning.
The Homeland Security Department has been secretly testing a pilot scheme in New York in which firefighters are trained to identify suspicious material or behaviour. If successful, the programme will be extended to other large cities

Of course this begs the questions "What, exactly, are signs of terrorist planning?" and "What. exactly, are successes?"

South seas snapshot of america

This innocent couch potato was truly unprepared for Donovan's Reef. I remember my parents had dragged me to a theater to see it back in 1963 and I was bored out of my gourd at the time and that's about all I could recall. But John Wayne is one of those actors whose careers Mrs Lipstick and I like to take a look at and he stars in this one, which could reign supreme as his absolutely worst effort, and that's saying a lot.

In brief the story line is as follows - some ex WW2 navy guys set up shop on a south sea isle. One guy's daughter, a snooty Boston broad, travels there to dig up dirt on her father and cheat him out of owning a shipping company. While there she falls for the big guy and after lame scheming and forgettable performances by what should have been a good lineup of actors it all works out ducky in the end.

Here's the reality of the film - made in 1962 it symbolizes the apotheosis of naive, ugly post world war america and all it's thumping stupidity right at the cusp of changing forever in the turbulent sixties. Looking at this horror show you ask yourself "they actually made this for entertainment?" There are some movies that are so bad they're good, this one goes a step further and reverts to bad again, fit only to be treated like a pathogen and studied under a microscope. I swear this can't be another team project by Wayne and John Ford who previously put out some fine cinema, but it is, but you wonder if the director had gone senile and all involved were just in it for the paycheck.

The producers thought it was a boffo idea to transfer Wayne's familiar western motif to a south sea island. I erroneously thought the town scenes were in a set used for cowboy flicks but no, all the locations were shot in Hawaii, so the town was made solely for this adventure. Take away the ferns and stick in a hitching post and voila! Gunsmoke. The Duke, not yet realizing his age, is at his misogynist best, literally dragging some poor actress off a ship, down a mountain, through the surf and sticking his tongue down her throat to teach her a lesson. After spanking her. He owns a bar, which he calls a saloon, and the sizable local population of chinese who frequent the place are too dumb to realize they shouldn't be dumping their money in a broken slot machine. The native islanders? Their job is to rush down to the beach whenever a white guy shows up and just hang around to wait on him.

The sexism and racism were all accepted as light comedy in the early sixties, when it was just the natural order of things for white males to inhabit the sole spot at the top of the food chain. That was soon to change, and Duke's career went south about this time when he kept taking roles that didn't fit either his age or match the societal change that swept the country.
A pathetic and not so fitting end to the 25 year collaboration between John Wayne and John Ford, guaranteed to make you roll your eyes with it's stupifying social aberration.

Bushistas Gush Success While Bribing Iraqis With Your Tax Dollars

Well, they had to find some way to pretend it looks positive.

by Chris Floyd

"Not since the Civil War days of George McClellan has an American general been so feted and trumpeted for his crushing defeats – although not even McClellan went as far as paying Rebel guerrillas like Bill Quantrill and his murderous bushwhackers to take over chunks of Union territory and run it as a personal fiefdom. But that is exactly what Petraeus is doing in Iraq. He is shelling out millions in taxpayer dollars to groups that only a few weeks ago were killing Americans and launching terrorist attacks with their allies in the extremist bands loosely grouped under the rubric "al Qaeda." (It's obvious that "al Qaeda" is losing its brand specificity and, like "xerox" or "zipper," is becoming a generic term applied to all manner of items beyond the original product.)

Of course, buying off your enemy is an ancient military tactic, and it certainly beats killing each other – and innumerable "collaterals" in the process. But Petraeus is not only paying terrorists and insurgents and death squadders to lay off the roadside bombs and sniper fire in the "Sunni Awakening" movement: he's giving them iron-fisted control over various walled enclaves, where – surprise, surprise! – they are lording it over the locals with brutal abandon, while American forces look the other way, or actively assist."

War On Activism And Citizen Journalists

I noticed that sitemeter has been down for a while and it got me to thinking about what TPTB would do to stem the tide of internet activism and the last bastion of true democracy. Sitemeter's website exclaims that "no body's going to be in the office until the 26th" and have a nice Thanksgiving weekend so I wouldn't think that it's a conspiracy to mitigate general blog effectiveness by getting rid of monitoring capabilities, but hey, that's a possibility.

Ron Paul's effective support on the net is making the despicable MSM sit up and take notice. That old Ghandi quote "First they ignore you" is playing out in real time in front of our eyes. Now TPTB have reached the second part of the quote and are verging on the third - "then they ridicule you then they fight you". Paul's support on the tubes is genuine and widespread and he wins just about every poll there is, exposing the lies at ABCNBCCNNFOX. His stance is absolutely the most frightening message that a candidate could put out there to entrenched power and established media, filled with constitutional references and calls to end illegal war. Lame efforts to ignore and exclude him took heavy criticism, now Big Media, the fascists and their goose steppers are on the attack to marginalize and discredit him, and with him the growing threat of internet activism and self empowerment.

Here are two findings in HR 1955: Violent Radicalization and Homegrown Terrorism Prevention Act of 2007, soon to be S1959:

1. The promotion of violent radicalization, homegrown terrorism, and ideologically based violence exists in the United States and poses a threat to homeland security.
2. The Internet has aided in facilitating violent radicalization, ideologically based violence, and the homegrown terrorism process in the United States by providing access to broad and constant streams of terrorist-related propaganda to United States citizens.

We're starting to see references to activists as terrorists, as if anyone who dares to reject this full throttle fascist stampede is a national threat. Dim Son laid the foundation for this when he threw down the gauntlet with his "you're either with us or agin' us". Well yeah, gaining awareness and sharing information is a threat to the forces that are stealing our country from us and are turning it into a blood soaked theocratic police state. CNN gasbag Glenn Beck recently caused a firestorm on his show by idiotically lumping all dissidents, Ron Paul supporters, Salamifascists and grumpy people together and calling on the US military to be used against them:

"This is part of an ongoing propaganda assault which has also been mimicked by other anti-American Neo-Con talking heads like Bill O'Reilly and Rush Limbaugh.
Beck opened up his show segment by inferring that the U.S. military should be used to silence domestic dissent against the war, claiming that those he would later identify as Ron Paul supporters, libertarians and the anti-war left and link with terrorists, were a "physical threat

Big play was given the fact that someone supposedly in bed with the KKK donated to Paul's campaign:

"The Paul campaign has also drawn support from antigovernment fringe groups and 9/11 conspiracy theorists. Since mid-September, a large "Ron Paul for President" banner has flashed at the bottom of white-supremacist Internet forum "Really, we haven't seen a candidate like Ron Paul in some time. The closest would have been Pat Buchanan" in 2000, says Don Black of West Palm Beach, Fla., the group's founder and a former Ku Klux Klan grand wizard, who donated $500 to Mr. Paul's campaign."

But the Ron Paul phenomenon is just the poster boy for the wider internet threat to controlled media and authoritarian forces who don't like people operating outside established parameters. There's just too much god damned freedom going on. Up to now Big Media and their masters have had a free ride to frame reality and truth in ways complementary to entrenched power and they hate the fact that people don't need or want their corporatized information anymore. Sitting slack jawed and drooling in front of the BoobTube like a good little consumer is out, creating and uploading video to YouTube is in.

What we're seeing could be the beginnings of the end of the internet as we know it, and the start of a giant effort to paint dissent on the web in the ugliest colors possible.

"Several experts testified this week before a subcommittee of the U.S. House Committee on Homeland Security about how the Internet has become the weapon of choice for terrorists and other radicals."

Just the other day Homeland Insecurity made up a supposed threat to the sham peace conference in Annapolis:

Nonetheless, DHS does not discount the threat of the lone-wolf terrorists, including individuals radicalized by homegrown extremist groups or Internet content,” the threat assessment said."

The internet has been a double edged sword for our preening overlords. On the one hand the net became a freewheeling riot of information where people can organize, communicate and learn, on the other hand our self appointed masters use their carnivore/echelon snoopware and who knows what else to monitor all our activities. I think over the years they've been wary of the potential threat that an awakened populace would be and they've learned how to deal with it. They can just pull the plug on the highway at any time (but not until the holiday shopping season is over) and blame their patsies du jour, or they can get all "domestic terrorists" on us, which is what they seemed to choose. People who point out the fact that ~>Bush et al are mass murdering scumbags <~ could expect a lot more official opprobrium. And worse if they pull a false flag terror incident and try to finger the bloggers.
Just give me back the stupid sitemeter.

Our Society Unravels

Forecast: US Dollar Could Plunge 90%

"A financial crisis will likely send the U.S. dollar into a free fall of as much as 90 percent and gold soaring to $2,000 an ounce, a trends researcher said."
We are going to see economic times the likes of which no living person has seen," Trends Research Institute Director Gerald Celente said, forecasting a "Panic of 2008."

The only questions are how far and how fast. A lot of people are speculating that the collapse will be started by an attack on Iran but I believe it will be the other way around. We're in the financial bus plunge right now; an explosion of war in the middle east will most likely begin when it won't matter if there's a worldwide oil shock. But that's all speculation. The dollar's collapse is well under way and we're in uncharted waters.

Righteous Rev Resigns Re Rakish Revelations

No word yet of aberrant sexuality

"TULSA, Okla. -- The president of Oral Roberts University resigned Friday amid accusations that he misspent school money to support a lavish lifestyle, officials said Friday.
Richard Roberts' resignation is effective immediately, according to a statement from George Pearsons, chairman of the school's Board of Regents."

FBI And DHS Making Up Terror Threat

With veiled reference to bloggers.

'Lone-wolf terrorists' may threaten Mideast summit

"Law-enforcement officials gearing up for the Middle East peace conference next week in Annapolis will be on the lookout for “lone-wolf terrorists” trying to disrupt the meetings.
According to a terrorist threat assessment issued this week by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security, there is no credible information that “extremist organizations” based in Maryland have targeted the conference or nearby Islamic or Jewish sites for disruption or a terrorist attack.
Nonetheless, DHS does not discount the threat of the lone-wolf terrorists, including individuals radicalized by homegrown extremist groups or Internet content,” the threat assessment said."

But there is no credible information that there is an imminent threat against the homeland.”

So why release a non story like this, as if they pulled it out of thin air?
Probably for several reasons. Just like any ponderous bureaucracy they have to make it look like they're on the ball doing something even if it's just make-work paper shuffling. Probably also to unveil a new brand name - Lone Wolf Terrorists, which they came up with after rejecting Keyboard Konspirators and Infohighway Insurgents.

added - US To Demand Israelis Stop Eating Muslim Pistachios - "I think Israelis should eat American pistachios, not Iranian ones," said Stewart Tuttle, spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Tel Aviv, stamping his feet in frustration.

Warnings And Insanity About War On Iran

Again we're being subjected to yet another round of saber rattling. When it happens, and since this government answers to demonic voices inside their heads it surely will, war on Iran will have been the most telegraphed attack in history. Paul Koring at the globeandmail:

"Massive, devastating air strikes, a full dose of "shock and awe" with hundreds of bunker-busting bombs slicing through concrete at more than a dozen nuclear sites across Iran is no longer just the idle musing of military planners and uber-hawks."

Daniel Ellsburg:

"This executive branch, under specifically Bush and Cheney, despite opposition [even] from most of the rest of the branch, even of the cabinet, clearly intends a war against Iran..."

Kuwaiti Times:

"Political analyst Dr Sami Al-Faraj predicted that the US would most probably launch a preemptive strike on Iran's nuclear installations within the first three months of 2008."

So this is the abyss that we've descended into - waiting around and speculating when the murderous tyrants will launch a blitzkrieg on a non threatening nation that will kill more thousands, if not eventually millions of innocents. They will do this because Iran was always the big, fat target. The fascists have spent years encircling the nation with bases bristling with armaments; it's got a lot of oil and is the main stumbling block to a Greater Israel, which is of primary importance to the Israel firsters in the US.

It's worth taking a look at some changes in the equation, though, because they'll have an impact on how it will play out.

We were subjected to a disinformation blitz this past year that basically went absolutely nowhere. The warmongers lost the propaganda war to demonize Iran enough in the public eye to allow for a strike. To me it seemed the american public just tuned the war talk out, most probably in the same manner that Iraq has become this tiresome background irritant that most americans don't want to hear about anymore. The Brits told the Bushistas to get lost when they tried to turn the hostage event last spring into a casus belli. Too many people have seen through the obvious lies about Iran's nuclear program and how they strangely resemble the lies about Iraq. In short, attempting paint the Persians into a monster fell on deaf ears, or something like that. In spite of the movie 300.

The war profiteers fared nearly as bad at the UN. No lies can be tossed into the execrable MSM which will refute the fact that Iran is complying with the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty Even with the new Bushista poodle, French president Sarkozy, parroting all the sanctions blather, both China and Russia will ensure that nothing will happen. Both countries have strengthened ties with Iran. The warmongers have evidently failed to isolate the country. Iran joined a Caspian Sea Alliance and it's found common cause with it's neighbors to battle Kurdish separatists. More failure.

One thing that we'll never know the truth about is how much opposition there is within the US military and spook agencies to more pre-emptive war. One would suspect plenty in spite of the Bushista pogrom to rid the agencies with nay sayers.

So it's been one frustration after another in pushing for this insane bloodlust and the clock is running out on the ziofascist agenda to reshape the middle east. At least they can rely on spineless democrats to huzzah new and enhanced mass murder.

But they have their ace in the hole and that's some false flag attack or attacks that can be blamed on the designated patsy. In the urgency to fulfill their filthy agenda, and with the severity of the upcoming destruction of Iran these false flag events have to be very, very ugly. Some say nuke explosions on american soil but I don't think so. The warmongers have a ready made situation that will fit their criteria to justify nuking an innocent country. One thing is certain - the Iranians have an extremely potent retaliatory missile capacity if hostilities break out. The US naval forces have been steaming around the Persian Gulf for some time now, rotating fleets in and out. Another fact is that the psychopaths never hesitate to sacrifice their personnel if they deem it necessary. Add to this that it's been known for decades that naval ships are obsolete sitting ducks, and this is one link I urge you to read.

The Real Face OF The Occupation's Surge

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Lab rats for fascism.

"The Bush administration is turning Iraq into a test tube for modern techniques of repression, from sophisticated biometrics that track populations to devastating weapons systems that combine night-vision optics from drone aircraft, heat resonance imaging and deadly firepower from the sky to kill suspected insurgents.

These high-tech capabilities, when mixed with loose rules of engagement that allow U.S. troops to kill Iraqis at the slightest sign of hostility, have contributed to what U.S. generals and a growing number of American journalists are hailing as an improving security situation.
Or, as President George W. Bush reportedly told Australia’s deputy prime minister in September, “We’re kicking ass.”

One thought that has stayed with me for decades, and seems to be more true today than ever before, is if an american wants to see the future of the US all she has to do is take a look at american client states. You know, those foreign spheres of influence occupied by troops, controlled by american corporations or simply run by an installed tyrant. Examples abound, there are literally dozens of countries to choose from. Topography and skin color may have differed somewhat but the agenda was the same - resource extraction for corporate enrichment coupled with vicious widespread repression. Our overlords been merrily extracting our tax money since forever and with a restive population, maybe due to economic collapse and new wars, soon we'll see a well oiled crackdown right here.

Militarism, rigged elections, climate of fear, controlled media, rampant criminality, sound familiar? The only reason our fascists haven't gone all death squads and disappearances on us is because most of brainwashed america is quite content with their Fox TV, their diversions and their wage slave banality to actually care about much else. And this is the dazed state they want to keep us in. What was that quote by Bertrand Russell? "Many people would sooner die than think. In fact they do." It's this thin veneer of relative opulence and mindless belief in unsustainable fairy tales that's shielding us from the brutal face of overt repression. That and how our masters feel they can control us without bullets.

The wreckage in Iraq is a splendid opportunity for our overlords to practice their upcoming high tech tyranny at home. Criminal MSM will dutifully chirp away with their happy face fantasies while real stories should be about the biometric databases, surveillance drones, crowd dispersal weaponry, and other goose stepping means of total control. The nazis didn't waste their splendid opportunities to study populations under their control; all kinds of information is available about those well documented activities. Is that much different than the US military testing all forms of exotic weapons on the people of Fallujah?

Iraq's been a grand laboratory for the manipulators in a lot of ways. Back during the first gulf slaughter in 1991 the first use of chemtrails were noticed and puzzled over. Think that Limbaugh's "college pranks" at Abu Graib were solely for deviate gratification of a few low level flunkies? Perhaps they just need to fine tune some persuasion techniques, because it's guaranteed they're still at it. A completely traumatized population under brutal security subjugation, out of work, sickened by chemicals and radiation poisoning, with no hope for the future and trapped in their nightmare, what an ideal captive bunch of lab rats, perfect to use for the evolving need to control or eliminate political dissent. Because that's our future too.

Man Tasered For Insufficient Submissiveness

Kindergarten 101: if you want respect, show respect.

Here is the problem. When a person acts like an unfeeling, inhuman, emotionless automaton with godlike authority, it's obvious that person is disturbed and should be treated with disdain.

I'd like to know at what point in this encounter the cop felt threatened by this man. He wasn't threatened? Correct. His godlike authority was more important than this man's health and well being.

Here is the reality. Much more of this and cops will be shot.

One more thing. The cop lied to the other cop. He never said "turn around right now or I'm going to taser you". Take a look.

Sham Conference Will Highlight Waning American Influence

Secretary of State Rice's really big show announced the list of participants that supposedly will attend her middle east conference on November 27. A big fat omission is the latest zionist target - Iran.

I think the invited assemblage was to come together and be strong armed persuaded to accept the dominance of Israel in the region, and all the invited parties know it. Any real peace initiative would have had everybody attend, including Iran. It's probable that the jig is up and no one is fooled by flowery, empty phrases about peace coming from a foreign power in the midst of a brutal occupation. With Israel's stranglehold tightening on the west bank and Gaza they aren't everybody's favorite to get together and have lunch with either. The Israelis and the Palestinians basically are showing up to toss out seperate declarations and then leave.

Expectations for this fig leaf fiasco are diminishing by the hour. It's been scaled back to a one day "meeting", barely enough time for wary attendees to get bored. Nothing new will come of this self serving conference, one of those endless phony benchmarks that the fascists love so dearly. A bunch of the invited may not even bother showing up. It's the new reality that america is now widely condemned and hated around the world and the middle east isn't going to dance to it's tune just because this country decided to strike up the band.

"If My Bra Is A Threat To National Security, We're In Big Trouble"

"Bleeep!" goes the metal detector.

"The guard doesn't crack a smile. Instead, he beckons a lean, hard-faced woman with greying blond hair held back in a high pony tail. Next thing I know, I've been pulled out of the line, away from my family and escorted into a little low-walled room for a more intimate encounter. I stand there, a bit flustered, but still smiling.
"I think it's just my bra," I say, trying to strike up a friendly girl-to-girl rapport. She's having none of that. She escorts me to a special chair and runs the wand carefully over every bit of me. Then, she has me stand on a pair of footprints, outlined in white. She wands me again, and again, my torso sets the thing buzzing like an angry mosquito.
She eyes my bosom suspiciously. It's not the kind of ogling I'm used to

Gestapo tactics at the airport aren't meant to keep us safer. Heavy handed "security" with all it's frustrations, intimidations and outrages are meant to get us used to, by increments, an oppressive police state apparatus where we have no privacy and we learn to be servile, unquestioning serfs.

Recent exercises have shown that all the severe restrictions and rules and mind numbing security is total garbage. Agents are able to bring guns and fake bombs past all the screening that airports have set up. Predictably, instead of pointing out the obvious - that the nazi like behavior of security is useless for safety and has everything to do with a nascent police state, the execrable MSM squawks for even more restrictions and ruder fascist thugs.

Take That Jab. Or Else.

Makes you wonder what will happen if and when a pandemic breaks out. And what else is in that damn needle.

Police with Dogs: Vaccinating Kids in Maryland

"I watched them bundled up against the cold winter air on Saturday, November 17, 2007, with their children and the letter from the State of Maryland threatening them with imprisonment or fines of $50 a day for failing to show proof their children had gotten a chickenpox or hepatitis B shot. Confused, angry or scared but mostly resigned, they were working mothers and fathers trudging toward the courthouse to face the Judge ordering them to get vaccinated or go to jail. Patrolling the scene was a SWAT team of policemen with dogs.
Chris set up his camera as I talked with a mother hundreds of yards from the front of the Courthouse door. I was about 12 inches inside a row of large cement balls that apparently were erected as a barrier to prevent terrorist attacks. I did not know I wasn’t supposed to be talking with this Mom inside the barrier. She was telling me about how she wasn’t given any information about vaccines before her children were injected with three vaccines.
All of a sudden, out of the corner of my eye I saw an armed guard with a dog emerge from the Courthouse and walk toward us. I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. It was the dread that any citizen of any country in any century has ever felt when an armed guard with a dog starts advancing. As if we were common criminals or terrorists, he yelled and gestured to us to move behind the stones.
We moved without a word. And the sick feeling in the pit of my stomach told me we were being shown the power of the State wielded by that armed guard with the dog, just as parents inside the Courthouse were being shown the power of the State wielded by doctors with syringes."

Eggs' Rights Group Pushes For Menstrual Criminalization Ballot Measure

Proposed Colorado Measure on Rights for Human Eggs

"A proposed amendment to the Colorado Constitution that would give legal rights to fertilized human eggs may be headed for the ballot next year, raising the prospect of a heated local debate over abortion at the same time that Democrats are gathering here for their national convention.
The ballot measure, which passed a legal hurdle this week when the Colorado Supreme Court upheld an administrative panel’s ruling about its wording, would give Colorado perhaps the most sweeping language in the nation about the rights of the unborn, legal experts said.
The proposal must go through several other steps between now and Election Day 2008, including gathering of enough signatures to qualify for the ballot.
But both sides agreed that the measure, if it passed, would have immense ripple effects. The measure, just one paragraph long, would ask voters whether inalienable rights, due process rights and equality of justice rights as defined in the state Constitution should be extended to “any human being from the moment of fertilization

If anyone think that contraception and menstruation, even leaving abortion out of the equation, should be the private business of a woman, she/he should think again if this sort of calculated christian catastrophe is made into law.

Pregnancy occurs when a fertilized egg only seeking it's constitutional rights attaches his/her little self to the uterine wall. Often the confused little proto person misses the chance to do so and is flushed out of the female body during regular menstruation, with no resulting pregnancy. If that happens menstruation therefore will be considered an act of murder if this xtian idiocy succeeds. Compounding the crime by using intrauterine devices or oral contraception would most certainly become illegal as these potential murder weapons prevent the uterine seeking little zygote from finding safe haven to maximize god's will.

Can't rational people see this horrifying garbage for what it really is? Is there any question that this is a full frontal assault on a woman's right to control her own body? These wily wild eyed jeebus freaks made great effort to keep the word "abortion" out of this proposed legislation on purpose to get around the usual debate that happens when idiocy like this is deliberated.

Of course this is happening in a state that has become a Mecca to evangelical psychos, a hotbed of jeebus love that spawned the likes of rowdy Reverend Ted Haggard, so it's not inconceivable that christopaths there can finalize their wet dreams of turning women into god's little baby factories.

CENTCOM Commander Sends Mixed Messages

Fallon: No military move against Iran

"Head of the US Central Command Admiral William Fallon has reiterated that Washington will not seek 'a military strategy' against Iran."

Fallon: The US has quite the big dick and should not be messed with

"CAIRO, Egypt — The Iranians need to realize that the U.S. is ready to stand up to them and the region is concerned about their radical rhetoric, the top American commander in the Middle East said Sunday.
Speaking at a press conference in Cairo with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, Central Command chief Adm.William J. Fallon said that Iran’s behavior since he assumed his post eight months earlier has not been helpful.
“I don’t want the Iranians to make a mistake and feel that we are afraid of them or not willing to stand up for things that we should in this region,” he said."

Alarm bells were ringing back in January when Bush nominated Fallon as top dog at Central Command, which manages the empire's adventures in the middle east and south asia. He was the first naval officer to hold that position and with his naval aviation background will be perfectly suited to oversee an air war on Iran.

His background showed him to be a go-to fall on his sword type career oficer, just another loyal insider toady that the Bushistas surround themselves with. Fallon was at the forefront in the military's fight to keep the naval munitions training at Vieques island in Puerto Rico, He was sent to Japan to smooth things over when "guest" joyriders in the submarine USS Greeneville sank that fishing boat and killed some crew. It's interesting to note that Fallon replaced General Abizaid as commander, who adamantly opposed troop buildup in Iraq. Does anyone think the Bushistas would have installed someone with recalcitrant attitudes toward their little wars?

A lot of people are taken in by the guy's reassuring words that war with Iran won't happen on his watch. I don't trust a word he says. After all he was the boss of the saintly General Petraeus who spewed that garbage about Iraq occupation strategy in September, and with the Bushistas the chain of command speaks with one voice or you're out of there.

Yet Another Case Of "Terminal Excited Delirium"

Man succumbs to excited delirium after police jolt him with stun gun

"(CNN) -- A 20-year-old man died Sunday after being shot with a Taser device (from excited delirium) during a scuffle with a sheriff's deputy in Maryland, a spokeswoman for the Frederick County Sheriff's Office said.

Cpl. Jennifer Bailey said deputies responding to a report of a fight in progress arrived at the location in Frederick, Maryland, just before 5 a.m. ET and found four people fighting.

A deputy used a Taser device on one of the men, who fell unconscious (who went into excited delirium), Bailey said.
The man was taken to Frederick Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His identity was not immediately released, pending the notification of his family."

Taser Is A Victim Here, Dammit

After Robert Dziekanski was tasered to death unfortunately expired in RCMP custody a few days ago, Taser International was stung by criticism of their fine product. What's a maker of torture devices human cattle prods on meth much maligned products to do when said instruments are the recipient of such unwarranted aspersion? Why, go on the offensive, of course.

"This tragic incident appears to follow the pattern of many in-custody deaths or deaths following a confrontation with police. Historically, medical science and forensic analysis has shown that these deaths are attributable to other factors and not the low-energy electrical discharge of the TASER(r). Specifically in Canada, while previous incidents were widely reported in the media as 'TASER deaths,' the role of the TASER device has been cleared in every case to date -- including the widely publicized Bagnell in-custody death in Vancouver where the TASER device was cleared by an inquest jury."
"Cardiac arrest caused by electrical current is immediate. The video of the incident at the Vancouver airport indicates that the subject was continuing to fight well after the TASER application. This continuing struggle could not be possible if the subject died as a result of the TASER device electrical current causing cardiac arrest. His continuing struggle is proof that the TASER device was not the cause of his death. Further, the video clearly shows symptoms of excited delirium(?), a potentially fatal condition marked by symptoms of exhaustion and mania such as heavy breathing, profuse sweating, confusion, disorientation and violence toward inanimate objects."
"We are taken aback by the number of media outlets that have irresponsibly published conclusive headlines blaming the TASER device and / or the law enforcement officers involved as the cause of death before completion of the investigation. These sensationalistic media reports completely ignore the earmark symptoms of excited delirium shown in the video. TASER International is transmitting over 60 legal demand letters requiring correction of these false and misleading headlines and will take other actions as appropriate."

Well, well, Taser, the company on whose board disgraced cop Bernard Kerik once sat and got very rich, is threatening lawsuits if people don't stop slandering it's good name and fine motivational equipment.

They are so full of shit it's laughable. There have been well over 200 taser related deaths in the US and Canada but we're supposed to believe they all died from a made up physical state called excited delirium:

"The medical diagnosis called excited delirium is the subject of intense debate among doctors, law-enforcement officers and civil libertarians. They don't even all agree on whether the condition exists."

A more useful term might be "death by cops using trauma inducing torture instruments". A more pragmatic look at this bogus nonsense would show that it's a cover to hide from the many lawsuits just lurking out there from the explosion of taser use. And as for the outrageous claim that their devices have been cleared in "every case to date", I wonder just who is doing the exculpation. More than likely any court case where the company was exonerated it was the massive resources at their disposal that won the day against victims' families, and police oversight usually means the cops deciding for themselves that they and their tasers had nothing to do with any deaths.

Meanwhile, the same day that guy was murdered in Vancouver Taser International got big orders for their stun guns from police in Texas, Virginia and Tennessee.

Officials To Monitor Reaction To Gun Confiscation Invasiveness

How else to explain such an asinine, high profile city wide poor neighborhood program? It seems to be social engineering, floating a stupid idea to demand invasive searches ostensibly to "make streets safer". The cops "will leave if they're denied permission to enter the house" and if guns are found "they won't charge the kid with posession".
Yeah right.
This isn't to get guns off the street, it's a trial balloon to gauge public response.

"Boston police are launching a program that will call upon parents in high-crime neighborhoods to allow detectives into their homes, without a warrant, to search for guns in their children's bedrooms.
The program, which is already raising questions about civil liberties, is based on the premise that parents are so fearful of gun violence and the possibility that their own teenagers will be caught up in it that they will turn to police for help, even in their own households.
In the next two weeks, Boston police officers who are assigned to schools will begin going to homes where they believe teenagers might have guns. The officers will travel in groups of three, dress in plainclothes to avoid attracting negative attention, and ask the teenager's parent or legal guardian for permission to search. If the parents say no, police said, the officers will leave.
If officers find a gun, police said, they will not charge the teenager with unlawful gun possession, unless the firearm is linked to a shooting or homicide."
The program was unveiled yesterday by Police Commissioner Edward F. Davis in a meeting with several community leaders."

Broadcast Error Shows OPEC Fear Over Tanking Dollar

They don't even want to publicly talk about the collapsing dollar for fear it might accelerate the precipitous decline. Of course the accidental airing of their concern that people will find out they're concerned will have far worse ramifications.

"RIYADH, Saudi Arabia — The accidental airing of a closed OPEC session Friday provided a surprise glimpse into a sensitive debate over the weakening U.S. dollar, with Saudi Arabia's foreign minister warning that even talking publicly about the currency's decline could further hurt its value.
The high-profile blunder ahead of a rare OPEC summit revealed the debate as Iran attempted to convince other member countries to express concern over dollar depreciation in the meeting's final declaration.
Oil is priced in dollars on the world market, and its depreciation has concerned oil producers because it has contributed to rising crude prices and has eroded the value of their dollar reserves. Cartel officials have resisted pressure to increase oil production to ease prices.
"The reality is that we have this problem. I think we should draft the declaration to reflect our concerns," Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki said during a pre-summit meeting here with fellow ministers from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries.
But Saud al-Faisal, foreign minister of U.S. ally Saudi Arabia, came out against the proposal with unusually frank comments.
"In my feeling, the mere mention that the OPEC countries are studying the issue of the dollar is itself going to have an impact that endangers the interests of the countries," he said."

Here's A Novel Idea To Reduce Violence

Basra attacks down 90% since British troops left

"The British army says violence in Basra has fallen by 90% since it withdrew from the southern Iraqi city earlier this year.
Around 500 British soldiers left one of Saddam Hussein's palaces in the heart of the city in early September and stopped conducting regular foot patrols.
A spokesman says the Iraqi security forces still come under attack from militants in Basra, but the overall level of violence is down 90% since the British troops left.
Britain is scheduled to return control of Basra province to Iraqi officials next month, officially ending Britain's combat role in Iraq."

Just How Unpopular Is George Bush?

The Voice of the White House for November 16th 2007

"Washington, D.C.,: “It has been a long-established custom for the President of the United States to lay a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery on Veterans’ Day.
This year, however, Bush did not lay the wreath but went to Texas on a vacation instead, leaving the ceremony to Vice President Cheney. Was this simple arrogance? Or stupidity? Neither. It is the story inside the White House that the Secret Service White House Detail kept him attending the ceremony because of what they called a “very credible plot to assassinate him.”
It seems, upon poking around, that George W. Bush has received more very serious death threats than any other sitting president. Last year, it was discovered that an unknown sniper had fired at the windows of the Oval Office. The rifle bullet did not penetrate the bullet-proof glass but a small crater in one of the window panes gave this away. No one on the White House roof (where there is permanent party stationed to thwart any aerial attacks on the building) heard a thing so it was suspected that a silenced weapon was used. An intense investigation failed to disclose the location of the shooter and they were not even certain when the sniping took place.
The Secret Service had learned that when Bush was visiting Mainz in Germany, that there was an equally credible report, this time from German counter intelligence, that there was a plan to blow up the President’s car while it was traveling through the German city. All of the manholes were promptly welded shut, sewer entrances heavily guarded, homes and businesses along the route evacuated and German security personnel put in all the windows.
This is a very sensitive subject here and strictly forbidden to even hint at but several workers here have refused their assignments to the White House mail room because it is strongly feared that some Chemical Warfare device or an explosive device could somehow get past the very strict security.
Please note that not one word of this ongoing problem has ever been in the American media and, by orders, never will. Arlington is large, relatively unguarded and filled with visitors, relatives of the dead, ongoing funerals and so on. Also, the area is heavily wooded, and it was believed that a sniper concealed in a tree could easily escape detection. We live in such interesting times.”

The Book That Can’t Be Published In America

The book that should be published in america, and widely read. As the author points out, the most important thing to understand is the vast difference between Judaism and Zionism.

"The question Americans asked in the immediate aftermath of the horror of 9/11 was “Why do they hate us?” And in many American minds the “they” of the question were not only the violent Islamic fundamentalists who, according to the official version of events, were solely responsible for bringing down the Twin Towers, but Arabs and Muslims everywhere - about a quarter of humankind.

Since that particular shocking and awesome event, I have often asked myself how different the world today might have been – how much less destruction and killing there would have been - if President Bush had said something like: “That’s a very good question. We must and will seek the answer to it before we decide how to respond.”

If an attempt had been made to answer the question, the first thing that would have been established is that the overwhelming majority of Arabs and other Muslims everywhere do not hate Americans or America. If they could, very many Arabs and other Muslims, perhaps even half of them, would live in America to enjoy the apparently good life there.

What they hate is American foreign policy. And the underlying prime cause of that hatred is Congressional and White House support for the Zionist state of Israel right or wrong. But Israel’s American-endorsed arrogance of power and contempt for international law is only one of two factors in the equation that, over the past 60 years, has seen Arab and other Muslim hurt, anger and humliation turn to hatred on account of the conflict in and over Palestine. The other is the impotence of the regimes of the existing mainly corrupt and repressive Arab Order, regimes which, genereally speaking, are perceived by their masses to be, in effect, American-and-Zionist stooges."
And here's why militant zionism is such a threat. It's behind the insane drive to smash all Arab and muslim countries in the middle east in it's push to create a greater Israel. It's the guiding philosophy for the neocon criminals and their christian dispensationalist stooges in this inexorable march toward war with Iran, as evidenced by this headline and the tediously repeated bullshit lie that will not die - Iran wants to "wipe Israel off the map.":
"It considers Iran its chief enemy after repeated statements by Ahmadinejad that the Jewish state should be wiped off the map."
Notice how the zionist warmongers hide behind Judaism. Ahmadinejad referred to a quote that the Israeli government, driven by it's zionist regime, would "vanish from the page of time." But the zionists and their lackeys would have us all believe Iran will be quick to kill all the jews unless it's stopped, meaning full conflagration in the middle east. This is the real threat, the zionist threat, it has nothing to do with Judaism and brain dead americans better wake up to that difference.
As far as the relations between the Persians and the jews living in Iran, they are perfectly content and safe. This situation is such an embarassment to the zionist warmongers that they tried to bribe the jews to emigrate, and were told to get lost.
But oh yes, it has to be admitted that the jews and Iranians are engaged in one titanic life or death struggle that gives ammunition to the ziofascists in their relentless drive to go to war on Iran:
"The most pressing complaint is that, despite many petitions to parliament, Jewish schools must open on Saturdays, the Jewish Sabbath. Like so many other Iranians, those at the Abrishami synagogue are relying on the new president, Mohamad Khatami, to support them.
"He's a kind man; let's hope he can help us with this schools question," says the parts dealer

France grinds to a halt as unions revolt at Sarkozy's pension reforms

"FRANCE was plunged into travel chaos for the second time in a month yesterday as striking transport unions staged a show of strength against pension reforms championed by Nicolas Sarkozy, the president, who is facing his worst month in office since he was elected in May.

Dubbed "Black November" by French media, this month sees Mr Sarkozy confronted by a series of strikes protesting against his economic, education and judicial reforms, leading political observers to compare his situation to that of Margaret Thatcher's when she faced down militant British miners' unions in the 1980s. The fear for the government is that the wave of strikes becomes a generalised protest against economic hardship."

World's Executioners Want To Block UN Vote

Move to outlaw state sponsored murder gains steam

"World public opinion has been so outraged by the continued use of the death penalty in the 25 countries that carried out executions last year, that a petition carrying five million signatures has been presented to the UN, where yesterday a small group of countries were attempting to block the historic vote on a global moratorium that could lead to an all-out ban.
As of last night, the draft resolution had been sponsored by 85 states, including all 27 European Union nations. The United States, which executed 53 people last year, will vote against. So will China, which put 2,790 people to death last year. In fact 91 per cent of all death sentences carried out happen in six countries: China, the US, Pakistan, Sudan, Iraq and Iran."

Fine company we're in there, makes me prouder'n hell to have such barbaric murderers making policy in this country.
Forget all the moral arguments against the death penalty, although there are plenty of those. Put aside the obvious implications of the possibility that innocent people could be mistakenly executed. It's true but only tangential to the subject that it costs a lot more money to go through the long appeals process in capitol offense cases than to just incarcerate prisoners for life.
All these reasons to eliminate the death penalty can be debated ad nauseum but there's one overriding reason to get rid of it from civilized society.

You should never, ever allow the government to have the power to kill the citizens. Because it will, in ever increasing numbers, for an ever increasing number of reasons.

"Court Clears Way for Egg Rights Showdown

DENVER (AP) — The Colorado Supreme Court cleared the way Tuesday for an anti-abortion group to collect signatures for a ballot measure that would define a fertilized egg as a person.
The court approved the language of the proposal, rejecting a challenge from abortion-rights supporters who argued it was misleading and dealt with more than one subject in violation of the state constitution.
If approved by voters, the measure would give fertilized eggs the state constitutional protections of inalienable rights, justice and due process."

Of course this is batshit crazy legislation despite the lofty phrases used by the clearly deranged supporters. One must remember that a fertilized egg isn't a person, it's called a zygote and it's not even a pregnancy until it embeds itself in the uterus wall. Over half of these fertilized eggs are flushed out of the system during menstruation and don't result in pregnancies, so technically it will be murder to menstruate.
The whole purpose is vicious control over peoples' lives, a perfect example of psychotic christian zealots imposing their sickness on everyone else despite the endless protestations that they don't do that sort of thing. It's a political ploy to gain control of other people's behavior. Period. Just don't ask them about the really late term abortions ongoing in Iraq and Afghanistan, that sort of behavior sits just fine with them.

And don't forget guys, hands off.

Advance Planning For Empire Expansion

Fat, juicy rumor at Media Matters

"Are we going to occupy Iran and Syria, too?

I got a letter the other day from a faculty member at the University of Maryland's overseas division in Europe. UM is the primary university providing classes for U.S. service members abroad.
Here it is: "The reason that I am writing today is to inform you of something rather unsettling. Last weekend, we had a Europe-wide faculty meeting at our headquarters in Heidelberg, Germany. At that meeting, we were told that the U of MD military education contracts will be expanding soon to Iraq, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Djibouti, and other locations in the Middle East and Africa. This comes as no surprise.
"What is startling is that the U.S. military has also asked us to prepare a bid for educational programs in IRAN and SYRIA (and, oddly enough, France -- where we have had no presence since NATO was expelled in 1967 -- probably a function of the new conservative government there). We will be bidding on an education contract to these locations at the end of November.
"This is a truly ominous development. The U of MD overseas program follows the military around the world -- thus clearly the contingencies for an occupation of several Middle Eastern countries is not only being contemplated, but actually set up."

Bush's Former Dominatrix Disappears

"Leola McConnell, the former dominatrice and militant for civil equality for people of all sexual orientations — who claimed in her memoir, “Lustful Utterances,” to have had S&M sex with George Bush in the 1980s — is feared by friends to be missing, according to this report:
“I hide from no man. I fear no mortal man of flesh and blood, regardless of the title he wears.”
–Leola McConnell

Several people who regularly communicate with her have told us they have not heard from her in a few weeks, and attempts by us to reach her have been unsuccessful to date. Get Set For A Giuliani Sleaze Tsunami

Judith Regan says she was told to lie to protect Giuliani

"NEW YORK -- Former publisher Judith Regan filed a $100-million defamation lawsuit against Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. and other defendants Tuesday, alleging she was asked by company officials to lie to federal investigators in order to protect Rudolph W. Giuliani's presidential bid.
Amid a flurry of allegations, the one most likely to cause a stir is Regan's charge that News Corp.'s political agenda was to protect the campaign of former New York Mayor Giuliani, especially when it came to the controversies over former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik, whom Giuliani had recommended for the post of Homeland Security secretary. Regan said she confided to company executives as early as 2001 that she had been having an affair with Kerik, whose memoir, "The Lost Son," she published shortly after the Sept. 11 attacks.
After President Bush nominated Kerik for Homeland Security secretary in 2004, Regan alleges in her suit, one executive "advised Regan to lie to, and to withhold information from, investigators concerning Kerik.
The company then launched a campaign to discredit her, because it feared that she might disclose information that would be politically hurtful to Giuliani, the suit said."

Yes, this is the chick that shacked up with would be homeland security head Kerik in an apartment set aside for 911 workers who needed a rest.
What we have here are republican values at it's finest, with war whore Regan, Rupert Murdoch, cop-on-the-take Kerik, charges of anti semitism, Rudy the serial liar, pissing on 9/11 responders and by Jeebus even OJ Simpson tossed into one humongous salad bowl of oozing sleaze.

And this is only the beginning for G. Wait until the cops, firemen, his old political opponents and his ex wife have their say.

Iraq Was Always Going To Be A Free For All Scam

It's not a "war" in Iraq. After the first Gulf Slaughter in 1990 the people of that country were forced to endure the most punitive sanctions in the history of the world for twelve agonizing years. Infrastructure was destroyed and a once prosperous middle eastern nation was reduced to medieval conditions after some million and a half people were murdered. Subsequent United Nations Humanitarian Coordinators all resigned in complete disgust saying they wanted no part of the ongoing genocide. The country was slowly strangled as the american military continuously bombed the hell out of it at will. The fascists were setting the stage for their next big production:
Operation Emptying Taxpayer Pockets

4/23/2003 - Interview with Andrew Natsios, Administrator for the US Agency for International Development, with Ted Koppel, Nightline, ABC News, 23 April 2003 on the costs of Iraqi Reconstruction.
Natsios insists over and over that the total cost will be no more than $1.7 billion.

11/13 2007 - Giddy congressional democrats say the sky's the limit

"The total cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan could balloon to $3.5 trillion over the next decade because of such "hidden" costs as oil market disruptions, foregone investments, long-term health care for veterans and interest payments on borrowed war funding, according to a report released by congressional Democrats on Tuesday."

Myth Of US Invincibility In The Persian Gulf

Old news, but timely as more ships sail to the waters off Iran. Joe Vialls actually warned about this almost five years ago. Wargamers in 2002 using computer simulations to fight against an Iran-like country in the Persian Gulf covered up the fact that the US fleet was destroyed almost immediately - after the fleet was "sunk", they just refloated it and continued with the games. It should be noted that Iran's missile defense has gotten far more sophisticated since that time.

"As the war games were about to commence on July 18 2002, Gen. William "Buck" Kernan, head of the Joint Forces Command, told the press that the operation would test a series of new war-fighting concepts recently developed by the Pentagon, concepts like "rapid decisive operations, effects-based operations, operational net assessments," and the like. Later, at the conclusion of the games, Gen. Kernan insisted that the new concepts had been proved effective. At which point, JOINTFOR drafted recommendations to Gen. Richard Myers, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, based on the experiment's satisfactory results in such areas as doctrine, training and procurement.

But not everyone shared Gen. Kernan's rosy assessment. It was sharply criticized by the straight-talking Marine commander who had been brought out of retirement to lead Force Red. His name was Lt. Gen. Paul Van Riper, and he had played the role of the crazed but cunning leader of the hypothetical rogue state. Gen. Van Riper dismissed the new military concepts as empty sloganeering, and he had reason to be skeptical. In the first days of the "war," Van Riper's Force Red sent most of the US fleet to the bottom of the Persian Gulf.

Not all of the details about how Force Red accomplished this have been revealed. The Pentagon managed to keep much of the story out of the press. But a thoroughly disgruntled Van Riper himself leaked enough to the Army Times that it's possible to get at a sense of how a much weaker force outfoxed and defeated the world's lone remaining Superpower."

How Much More Like Vietnam Can It Get?

Well, there could be a draft.

So there's all this talk about how dandy that "surge" worked, and by Jeebus the media hacks are actually using this putrid phrase again (read - the conquered people have finally been beaten into submission, as Chris Floyd would put it):

Have we turned the corner in Iraq?

"By every objective measure of military performance, the United States' surge of military forces into Iraq has been a great success. The number of terrorist attacks has fallen significantly. American military casualties are down, as are Iraqi civilian casualties. Perhaps the best testament to the surge's success is that civilian refugees are beginning to return."

How many more steaming piles of horseshit are they going to fling our way? Let's take these lies and examine them a little.
First that crap about returning refugees. To begin with the reason why some four million Iraqis have fled their homes is because the US invaded, occupied and destroyed their country. It's no wonder that people ran for their lives after their society was torn apart and daily life consisted of barbed wire, random shootings, bombings and constant fear. Some two million of them escaped to neighboring Syria and Jordan, who were extremely gracious in accepting them up until recently, when due to the enormous pressure from the flood of displaced people they were forced to basically close their borders. In Syria most Iraqis aren't allowed to work and since they lived on handouts and savings they're forced to return because they've run out of money and can't live there any more with visa and redidence permit restrictions. They have no other choice than to go back to Baghdad, and they liken it to a death sentence. Even in the glowing MSM propaganda about this fantastic corner we're turning you can find this nugget:

"Most of the capital’s displaced people have yet to return, and the number of those leaving still outpaces those returning, according to Dana Graber Ladek, the Iraqi displacement specialist for the International Organization for Migration."

The reason why american casualties are down as they claim is because the military is doing everything it can to prevent them, which means scaling back activities where they could occur, and just outright lying about the numbers. One or two dead soldiers a day seems to be their acceptable figure and that's what we'll get. But just like Vietnam toward the end of the conflict the military is very happy to call in air strikes instead of having boots on the ground:

"Coalition forces launched 1,140 airstrikes in the first nine months of this year compared with 229 in all of last year, according to military statistics.
Airstrikes are up in Afghanistan, too. Coalition planes have made 2,764 bombing runs this year, up from 1,770 last year. The figures don't include strikes by helicopter gunships

An added factor is that the military has hired Iraqi goon squads to do a lot of the dirty work for them, in effect paying off the guys who were previously killing americans to go kill fellow Iraqis. This way the heavy lifting of the occupation can be off the books and casualties not chalked up to an ongoing insurgency, just more mercenary privatization as the hired guns terrorize their fellow citizenry. Can anyone say "Vietnamization"?
These tactics are just the latest in the ceaseless propaganda war being waged for our heads, and the desired end result isn't a positive outcome for the occupied or the occupiers but a change in perception on the part of the targeted audience, us. The US military is never going to leave that wasteland until they're forced out, the resistance to the occupation will never stop, and our overlords will continue to lie about the entire sordid nightmare. The Iraqis aren't fooled by this lipstick on a pig.

"Attacks against US forces are not much less than they were last month, but media coverage has almost disappeared," Muhammad Younis from Mosul, in Baghdad on a business trip, told IPS. "The resistance is moving fast and changing locations in order to avoid intelligence provided by collaborators. Most Iraqis hate the Americans more than ever after the death and destruction caused by their occupation."
